Which park would you skip?

Okay so this is my second post on this thread so please bear with me. So I don't want to seem like I'm coming down on some people, because actually I'm not, but for the life of me I cannot imagine not going to all4 parks . All 4 parks are different & unique to each own. I know everyone has there favorites. In all my trips combined i must've been to MK - 20 times, Epcot 20, AK 8, HS 12. One would say, see u dislike AK because u only went 8 times. O contrar. Every trip one park stands out as our fav. And that changes from trip to trip. Ak may not be an all day park like the others but the shows here are amazin. The park is gorgeous . The CMs from africa and all are very knowledgeable and take the time to give a lil history lesson to me n the kids. Alzo the rides here aren't to shabby either. Yes it does tend to be a lil hotter at this park but honestly there's no other park in the world like it....just my $.02. Also feel the same way about HS. Rides ,shows, etc.

Totally agree!

There is nowhere else like Disney, and I could never skip a park.

Infact, a friend of ours is going to Florida for a week, finances are tough so she can only afford 2 days in the parks .... my DD11 turned round and said she wouldn't be able to choose so she'd rather not go at all

OP, I can see where you cannot fit in another park! You've got a packed vacation! And it looks like other posters have missed that youa re going to be at DTD for a few hours, not an entire day.

That being said, if it were our family, I think we would skip Epcot. (ducks behind couch) Right now, the kids like the other three parks better and I agree. When I was doing our itinerary last night for our May trip, I have 1/2 day open and I was trying to figure out what to do with it and returning to Epcot never came to mind.

If I had to skip a park, it would be Hollyeood Studios. We just don't get the appeal of this particular park. We arent into most of the rides and TSM line is just crazy!

Given your schedule, I would visit AK during the day and hit DTD at night. We love DTD because it was open when the parks are closed, which is great especially for an adults only trip.

I love the diversity of peoples outlook .... we LOVE DHS. I love the buildings, they give me that feeling of 1940s hollywood and they look beautiful moreso at night. I find it a great place to meander around. I love the fact that they take you inside the movies - The Great Movie Ride, The Car Stunt show, Indiana Jones, watching the Disney artists at work .... yes, most of Disney is based on the movies but I find that DHS puts you on the other side. I could never skip DHS, we spent 14hrs in there last trip :goodvibes

As the PP you quoted, I fully agree with you about the Hollywood architecture of the Sunset Blvd. section of the park. Delightful. (I wish the other 3/4 of the park followed suit. Or would that be zoot suit?)

I also agree with you that diversity in outlooks is both fascinating and what makes the World go 'round. Different folks for different strokes. Or something.:)

I'll also add that we have never yet actually skipped DHS. But if, as the OP suggested, we had to skip a park, that'd be the one. (Though not, as many PPs have suggested, in favor of DTD.)

Trust me when I say this was one of the toughest decisions I have ever had to make and hopefully will never have to make again lol. The wedding events are going to be taking up quite a bit of time and I really dont want to miss out on any events for my friends big day!!! I really think it is interesting how everyone has their "must dos" and other thigns they can do without. I think this is why I LOVE Disney so much because there is something for EVERYONE :lovestruc When DH and I were having the dicussion on what we would skip I had said DHS....but that being my hubby favorite park and us wanting to do the Disney Jr show and character lunch skipping it was not an option...plus I was out voted by Hubby and the Babysitter lol.....I am thinking now about maybe sneeking off to AK with the babysitterone day, while hubby and baby take a nap, so I can at least ride my beloved Dinosaur ride lol....I guess I will just have to see how completly exhausted I am lol.

AK is by far our last favorite too. Before we ever went it didn't look appealing, but friends kept saying how awesome it was. We're not big zoo fans, and we live in a gorgeous rural area with lots of wildlife to watch, so it's just not that magical for us. But I'll always go at least a half day to ride rides and eat. But if we went for a short trip I'd skip it. But I would only go for a short trip if we were going to a wedding ;) (can't you add on a few more days?) :thumbsup2

Though here's another thought...I just planned a short (first) trip for a friend, and they insisted on NOT going to Epcot. I tried to talk them into it but then I realized that they really didn't have time to have a good Epcot day (they had lots of ADRs and stuff - long story).

i REALLY wish we could stay a few more days!!! I have a bunch of other friends that are going to be in for the wedding that I have not see in a long time and would love to spend more time with them and go to the parks together, but we are driving (which is taking up alot of time) And we have a trip to Atlanta to see my sister and a 7 day Disney Cruise(our first Disney cruise!!!)later this year that we have to save our vacation days for......we literally cannot stay one more day due to Hubbby needing his vacation days for later in the year =(

There's absolutely no need to feel badly about skipping a park. I can't remember if OP is going with young kids but that right there will change the pace of your vacation. It's totally understandable. I'm still very sorry that you have to choose between. It's hard for me to wrap my brain around but some people really don't care for certain parks. I say go where the magic is for you! But don't you dare skip Magic Kingdom ;)

Having recently travelled with my youngest children (2 year old twins)...
My guys loved all 4 parks. AK was a hit - they thoroughly enjoyed the trails and animal viewing, Triceratop Spin (basically a dino version of Dumbo), The Boneyard play area, FOTLK (beautiful and engaging Lion King show, Broadway caliber) and Kilamanjaro Safari (rode it twice). Other possibilities for her age - Flights of Wonder and Nemo.
It was a really nice experience with the 2-3 year old age group.
What character dining are you doing? If possible, I would consider moving the time and date of the dining experience, and hitting AK at rope drop. You can get the above list done easily in 4 hours or so.
In Epcot, my little ones loved Nemo, the aquarium, Spaceship Earth, the fountains and a little time in the Pavillions in FutureWorld. The playground at Mission Space is great for use during childswap. In World Showcase, they loved strolling and walking - the acrobats in China held their attention, as did the drummers in Japan. Lots of characters to see, and the model train (Germany) and maze in England are neat, too. They liked both rides (Mexico and Norway) and loved Illuminations. There are lots of open, grassy areas to run around in while mom and dad enjoy a treat or pastry.
DHS had several attractions that they enjoyed, including - the shows (BATB, F!, Disney Live). They liked TSM, but would not wear the glasses. The Pixar Parade was a big hit and they also enjoyed the Great Movie Ride, although it might be a bit intense for some toddlers. And again, they loved the HISTK playground!
if it was me, I would do a full day in MK and Epcot (2 total) and a morning at DHS through the parade (if she loves Pixar), a Fantasmic show and a morning at AK.
Again, what is your character dining?
Have fun!

I also couldn't skip a park. Downtown Disney doesn't do a lot for us, except Cirque Du Soleil :lovestruc, so I'd skip DTD and do Animal Kingdom. If your going to Epcot you've got the best shopping there anyway - Mouse Gears!!

We skip Animal Kingdom routinely and don't miss it. We do visit it from time to time though and will probably do so this year but it's definitely an easy miss for us.

DHS. We spent a very small amount of time there last time, and we were staying at Disney for 5 days. This year, we're going for 9 days and actually skipping DHS. There's a minimal amount of stuff we like to do there, so we opted out this year!

Ok so now this my 3rd post on here. I know its not for everyone and its not made up to be so magical like MK but honestly theres really a lot to accomplish at this park. Its just that its different from the other parks thats all. So for all the people that havent visited and were on the fence about going please at least give it a try or two....trust me im sure itll grow on you too. :confused3

I would skip Animal Kingdom, though I've never been on EE (wasn't open on our last trip) so I would have to go just to ride that. Then go to DTD afterwards.

Skip a park?? The HORROR!!!

If I HAD to skip one, though, it would be the Studios for me.

If I had to skip a park, I'd pick AK. But we are probably going to do AK and skip Epcot for my daughter's first trip because she loves animals.
