Which park would you skip?

skipping a park in lieu of DTD would never happen for us - you can shop and eat and drink almost anywhere, including in the parks. we can't even find time to rationalize going to DTD on an 8 day trip.

THIS. DTD is a short, one evening type deal for me. There are a lot of shops but a lot of restaurants take up the space too so we're done with it super quick.

To answer your question though, DHS is the one we'd skip. We barely get there in the first place and stay maybe half a day.

Without a doubt, AK. AK is the least favorite for my crew out of all 7 parks. (Including US/IOA/SW). We were going to skip it this last trip but changed our mind since we had hoppers and 6 days total. We did just half a day at AK and even that felt like wasting time compared to the other parks. We have 5 days for our next trip for disney parks, so we will be skipping AK for extra Epcot time.

If I only had 4 days, I'd skip DTD. But I'd still skip AK. I'd do that day at Epcot instead.

THIS IS WHAT i HAVE PLANNED FOR OUR 4 DAY TRIP
Day 1 - MK all day (our fav. park and will prob. be the fav. of our 2 yo lol)

Day 2 - Epcot during the day then back to MK for EMH

Day 3 - HS for most of the day then a wedding at Boardwalk for the evening (reception is at Epcot)

Day 4 - Character Breakfast 10:30 then DTD then leave by 3 to go home =(

I just could not see where AK could fit in....skipping a park is the hardest thing lol.....we are coming back next year when DD will be old enough for BBB and other things so that has helped a little.....it is neat to see what everyone else would skip....

Ever since I was a little girl, Great Movie Ride has always been my favorite ride. With the addition of Tower of Terror back when I was an early teen, it helped to solidify DHS as my favorite park. Then, when I because a CP there back in 05, there was no turning back. Skipping the Studios is not an option for me.

My next favorite park is likely MK, but it only beats out Epcot by about a half point to a full point. Animal Kingdom is pretty far down on my list of priorities after that. A perfect 10 day vacation for me would have 3 days at the Studios, 3 days at MK, 3 days at Epcot, and one day (or possibly even a half day) at AK. If I had to skip a park, it would certainly be AK.

I'd skip Epcot.

*runs and hides*

:scared1:On my upcoming trip, i have scheduled Epcot on 3 full days out of 6!

With a 2 year old, i would skip either DHS or AK, depending if she is more interested in animals or Disney Junior/Toy Story.

For me I would go to Animal Kingdom, then head to DTD they are open much later. We only spend a half day at DTD.

I wouldn't skip any park in favor of DTD, but if we had a short trip I'd skip Studios.

It would depend on whichever park I didn't see enough of the trip before. So if we did AK totally the trip before but not DHS I would go to DHS. Or vice versa. Probably wouldn't ever skip MK or EP, unless I only had one day, then it would be MK for one day.

Of course I caveat all this by saying we don't skip any parks anymore - we love them all!!!

We have skipped AK and DHS on different trips. I love AK parade but you have to leave before it starts anyway and with your Character Breakfast being late morning I think AK would be the park to skip. I would skip DHS though becasue last time we had to skip a park we skipped AK.

We are planning a 4-day trip in February for the Princess Half-Marathon next year, so we decided to minimize stress we would skip 1 park. By unanimous vote (and by unanimous I mean me and my DDs, my DH doesn't get a vote :lmao:) we decided to skip DHS. ToT might be my favorite ride in all of WDW, but my DDs are chickens so they won't ride that or RnRC. Toy Story is great, but the waits make it less appealing. So, even though there is plenty there that we like, if we have to make a choice we'd pick AK over DHS. At least for now.

I would skip AK. I actually have it last on our itinerary for that reason. If God forbid something came up or we really wanted to redo some other park attractions elsewhere, I would actually be ok if we never made it there. Why? It just evokes the least memories for me....I have only been there one time as an adult and barely remember anything that stuck out in my mind as appealing. Now this time, we are going for the first time with our toddler who is 3, so she may like a few things and that is why we are going. But if it were for me alone, I could spend most of my days at MK and DHS and lastly Epcot. AK just means almost nothing to me. Maybe I will see it differently this time through the eyes of my child. This is why I would NOT skip it unless absolutely necessary. Personally I would never put DTD above AK even though I don't care much for it. I just feel I can eat and shop in every park....and I am going moreso by what may interest my toddler. She does love to shop, dont get me wrong. But I just dont see what is so great at DTD either.

Can I ask you what appeals so much to you about DTD? Maybe I NEED TO RECONSIDER IT (we have no plans to go to DTD this time since we are only staying 6 full days), since you feel so strongly about it! LOL. Maybe I am missing something important there (I like to shop and eat too, lol).

Your view of AK is almost EXACTLY my view of MK. Weird how that works out :rotfl:

With a combination of my kiddos, the most popular visits are

1)Epcot
2)MK
3)HS

x)AK.

We only do AK if family or guests from out of town want to do it. My DD is scared of Everest and since its mostly outside, just gets too unbearable with the heat and the crowds for my tastes.

that said, if I HAD to pick, I'd visit AK over DTD. Shopping is fine, but I could do that some other evening, or shop in the parks.

Our Character Breakfast is not until 10:30 with the entire wedding party so after we eat and say our goodbyes to friends it will probably be 12:00 if not after and we are headed home at 3 so the last day I really only have 2 or 3 hours to work with. Plus I like to do my shopping at DTD instead of the parks that way at the parks I can just worry about riding as many rides as possible  Plus just about everytrip we do DTD the last day...kinda our thing and I hate to mess ith that lol....

Our least favorite is Epcot. We all like the thrill rides and Epcot doesn't have any rides that are in that category. Test track maybe, its not much different that riding in our convertible with the top down. We are skipping Epcot on our next trip because TT will be closed when we are there.

Although, I like to shop at DTD too. I always have some time in DTD on each trip. Next trip, we will probably go the evening after AK go to the World of Disney and Splitsville if open by then. We will go again for a few hours on our departure day to shop the other smaller stores.

I think your plan is just fine since you will need to attend all the wedding events.

Skipped AK on the last trip and just hung out at the pool. I only really missed the Safari ride and Expedition Everest.

I can shop at home
AK is #2 on our list
I'll skip DTD (actually did skip it last trip)
