Which Park to do on Arrival Day?

I was just wondering, given my information, which park you guys would suggest going to the first day we get to Disney.

We are arriving Saturday, Nov. 4th. Our plane lands around noon and no park has EMH that night. And the parks close earlier due to the fact that it is a "down time" for Disney.

So was just curious as to what suggestions you would have as to which park to do that day after we check in. And one other thing, what time is DTD usually open to. As mentioned above, we are going during a less crowded time and wasn't sure what time they were open til (and I mean the shops and restaurants, not Pleasure Island).

So :thanks: guys in advance for any suggestions.

We are arriving on 11/18, plane touches down at 11...hope to be at the Poly by 12:30 and in MK by 1pm!

While I usually love to MK first, in your situation I would probably go to Epcot. Saturday's are usually busiest at MK. Getting there at noon or later may considerably limit what you are able to do. Epcot is generally open till 9 or 9:30. You could have lunch in the WS, head over to Future World for a few hours, come back to WS for dinner and then watch the fireworks. Just MHO! Have a great time!!!

I always say to myself it is Disney World, you have to start in MK... but I always end up starting in EPCOT for some unknown reason....

wow that sounds like a great idea...wanna plan the rest of the trip LOL

Yeah I always think that too, so we will see what happens. Things can change so quickly once you get down there

our first park is mgm...its small and we dont feel rushed to get thru and get done what we can...

We normally arrive at CR around 12, check in (often getting to take stuff to our room), then head to MGM. We have two little ones so we dont care about riding the big stuff. For us its a great way to ease into the whole WDW thing. We eat a heavy lunch after the rush, then wander around the park before heading to Fantasmic for a good seat. We grab something light from one of the food vendors there, and then a snack later back at CR. We hit MK the next day so we can get a full day in there.

We always head to EPCOT on arrival day, since it's the park open the latest during that time of year. To make the most of your park time, that's what I'd suggest doing. ::MinnieMo

I always hit Epcot first as well. I don't feel like I'm truly in Disney until I go on Spaceship Earth, for some reason.

I know I am not alone, but I have to head to MK with Main Street and the Castle. princess: I'm a closet princess at heart! We too usually hit POTC and HM.

We always do Epcot... but that's also because we always stay at the Boardwalk Villas and it's just a 5 minute walk to get there.

Another vote for Epcot, because it's usually open the latest that time of year. Since you're already missing part of the day because of your arrival time, this would maximize your park time that day.

Skip MK, it's too crowded on a Saturday to arrive in the afternoon. Save the "magic" for a full day.

I would agree that Epcot is the best place to spend your first day, although I'm not taking my own advice. We will be arriving at 11am and will head to MGM in the afternoon. It's the park I think my DD8 will like the least (she has no interest in seeing the shows) so we will get that over with first. The next day we'll spend at MK.

We go to whatever park Tour Guide Mike says to go to.....but secretly we hope it is MK - however this upcoming trip it will be Epcot.....

MAGGIED : Off topic, but just looking at your trip schedule, 3 in 6 months!! Considering you are in New York (as I am), that is incredible! Lucky you... Have a fun safe trip :goodvibes

Another vote for Epcot! We always seem to start our trip this way...I think it's the first night of DATW that gets us excited :drinking:
