We leave in 4wks for our trip to WDW. Our days will be cut short slightly d/t airline reservations so I've had to switch things around. We have 3 full days at the parks, others are only 1/2 days. 1 day will be for MK, the other will be a day at Sea World. I know that my kids will probably not enjoy Epcot as much so I plan on that being for one of the 1/2days.

So, my question, which park should we spend the entire day at--MGM or Animal Kingdom? I know MGM there are more shows than anything, but my kids love Bear in the Big Blue House, Ariel, B&tB--so I want to see all these shows. Do you think a 1/2 day is good enough for MGM?

ETA: My kids are 5yrs and 3 1/2yrs old.

Thanks in advance!

I would do a day at MGM and a half day at AK, but my family absolutely loves MGM. We always do the GMR, BATB, VOTLM, Playhouse Disney, Star Tours, Muppetvision, etc. I think you can squeeze things in with a 1/2 day but I think a 1/2 day at AK is easier.

I dont really care for MGM, so 1/2 day would be plenty for us. However, if you want to see all those shows, due to scheduling, I don't think you'll get them all done in a half day. So, I voted for MGM.

My vote is for MGM. They have lots for toddlers/preschoolers including Playhouse Disney live on stage which is great if they like to watch the Disney channel.

My vote is for Animal Kingdom. I bet the kids would love the animals, especially the safari ride.

My 4 year old DD was bored by MGM, after she got to see a few shows and meet KP she wanted to leave. On the other hand we could hardly drag her out of AK after being there for a 1/2 day.

Neither...spend a whole day in Epcot. The whole "it's not a kids park" is a myth...my kids love it. Chose it over AK twice on the last trip.

In order to fit in any amount of the shows because of scheduling MGM can be tricky and on the other hand, AK can easily be done in 1/2 day to do the basics. So I chose MGM for the full day.

Out of the choices you gave, I picked MGM. I can't stand AK really. They only have 2 or 3 decent things there in my opinion. Now, my favorite park is EPCOT but that wasn't one of your choices. But I could spend the better part of a week there!

i would choose animal kingdom, just because my family enjoys seeing the animals and stuff, both parks are great though.

Thank You Kick Save!!

My 2 sons have always loved Epcot from the age of 2!!

But If I had to pick between AK and MGM...Id pick MGM

I voted Animal Kingdom, there is so much to see and do there. Plus if you have a park hopper, you could always go to another park to finish up the day if you wish.

I say take out Sea World. There is plenty to do at the 4 Disney Parks. JMO

Well, of the 2 you have listed, I'd pick MGM. If you want to know what I really think, though, I'd have to say a full day at Epcot, and a half day at either MGM or AK. My kids are 7 (Sept. bday) and 4 1/2. After MK, Epcot is their favorite park. They are beginning to enjoy MGM more, but only because they are getting into the whole autograph thing and pin trading and that is a great park to do that in. I like MGM because of RnR. They also have great parades. My oldest dd likes AK. For the younger one though, there just isn't much to do.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip regardless. As you can tell from the different responses, WDW has something for all of us. Sometimes finding where we fit is the hard part.

That's my vote, too. Epcot is so much fun! Our family likes it better than MGM and AK.

I agree. I think to blow off EPCOT would be doing yourselves a disservice.

IMO, EPCOT in a half-day is a waste and will leave a bad taste in your mouth about the park because you'll only get to do a certain amount of things (and you'll be rushed doing them). It really deserves a full day, and yes, there's plenty for younger kids to do.

On the other hand, I think you can get most of what you want to see accomplished in a half a day at both AK and MGM, and not feel ripped off or rushed.

I was wondering if my kids were weird or something. My kids have ALWAYS LOVED EPCOT!!!!! I mean even when they were like 4 or 5!!!! They rank it right up there with the MK and we often have stayed in EPCOT longer than MK!! :teeth:

the thing with Epcot is that it tis rather spread out, so it takes a while to cover the whole thing. A half day there is not really enough to see very much. AHving said that, I'd probably spend more time in WS end of the park with the two little ones. They won't be able to go on TT, M:S, or Soarin'. they may very well LOVE the WS.

For the other day, it's a toss up. Try showing your kids the attractions on the Disney web page - under the preschoolers category (and maybe the 'relax and romance' category, too) and ask them which attractions interest them the most. This is a great opportunity to give your kids a choice in the decision process.

You guys aren't making this very easy for me!!! ;) Thanks for all the responses! I really appreciate it!!!

DAK is the better park as far as I'm concerned but I'm not a big thrill ride guy and I love zoos.
