This will be our first time going during Thanksgiving and am looking for any advice for people that have been prior. Which park did you go to on Thanksgiving? How were the crowds? Trying to figure this day out before my ADR opens.

We've always done Hollywood Studios on Thanksgiving. Nice family meal at the Primetime Café and the Osborne Family Lights after it gets dark.

Always had a great time in that park. Crowds are present but never have we seen it bad enough that anyone complained. Talking about Thanksgiving mind you - we've been for Star Wars Weekends when the crowds combined with the heat made it miserable. But it's a great place for turkey day.

Great to hear! HS was our first choice but considered the evening at Epcot too for illuminations that night. Decisions!

Another vote for Hollywood Studios - we've done Thanksgiving Day there our last two trips. Like pp said, the crowds were there but we felt they were very manageable. Enjoy your trip! We're trying the heat and humidity of September this year...eek!!!

MK will be packed like a sardine can on Thanksgiving Day itself, so I'd just choose whichever park you prefer as long as it's not MK. ;)

AK was most.recommended last year on Thanksgiving. I arrived that day last year and got to AK around 1. Rode EE 3 times (1 FP+ and the other 2 single rider) but wait would have been 20 mins or so. Saw flights of wonder, walked around the jungle trek, watched jingle parade, and FOTLK. I could have easily booked FP+ for Dinosaur or Safari but didn't. I was surprised at how uncrowded the park was. FYI - black Friday I went to MK for morning EMH at 8. Did I believ 11 rides from 8-11. Then some resort hopping in the afternoon to see decorations and HS that night for my FP+ rides and Osborne Lights. It was a great 2 days.....lots of fun experiences even tho high crowd levels.

We did a Thanksgiving trip to WDW a few years back and had a great time.

I would avoid MK, but your plan for a morning at HS and moving to Epcot sounds perfect - it's what we did ;)

If you are looking for a great Thanksgiving meal, can I suggest the buffet at Cape May Cafe inside the Beach Club? It was wonderful!! (And a great midway point between the two parks) It was busy, but no horribly so - mainly resort guests as most people try and get ADRs in the parks.

The buffet had all of the traditional favorites and other carving stations as well.

Have a wonderful time!

I did check out the calendar and he doesn't recommend Epcot so I keep debating on HS and then Epcot or doing AK then HS or a resort morning with HS later.

I think it depends on your expectations. If you're not expecting to ride TT and Soarin' with minimal waits and you're fine walking around world.showcase you'll probably be fine. Heck, you could probably start at AK, hop to HS and use FP+ and see Osborne Lights and then hop to Epcot for a late dinner and Illuminations.

Our expectations would probably be not to ride anything major. More to eat and whatever we could ride fine. Biggest decision is really where to eat!
