Hi,

We have one day (a Sunday) for our group:

3 adults
2 - 7 year old boys
1 - 4 year old boy

Which park do you recommend and why?

Thanks!

what type of rides does your group enjoy the most? are you looking for rides for the entire group or mainly for the kids?

are you going in the summer time?

Hi

Thanks for replying -

we are traveling end of Oct and we want to go to a park that will make everyone in the party happy - somewhat balanced!

if you go on a weekend that includes F,Sa,Su, the parks will close early due to HHN.
the park that hhn is held in will close at 5, the other park at 6. i see you posted you want to do a UO park on a sunday. you need to go early then as the crowds will begin around 2ish for people coming into the parks for HHN.
they like to do some rides before the parks close and be in the park for the start of hhn

are you wanting to do the rides around the children's interest since there are 3 of them ? i can list some sites that would appeal to the younger group then.

are you interested in coasters and plan to do child swaps if all the adults are planning on thrill rides?

Yes, we will be there during HHN, but do not plan on attending that evening - we'll be leaving to head to Disney when we are done at Universal.

Getting an early start is fine, we don't care so much about the coasters - I have 2 imaginative 7 year old boys that I would rather entertain - which park would be best for them? They love all the superheroes - but they also love MIB

I am not sure why you want to tie yourself to a single park. The parks are only a several minute walk apart. The price differance between a single park and a two park ticket is pretty small compared to how much the tickets cost. I would purchase a two park ticket and just hit the rides at each park that your group wants to do.

I would do IoA in the morning making sure you get there early (AKA before the parks open) and since your skipping a few rides you should easily be done with everything by noon. Then just spend the afternoon doing a few attractions at USF. I am not sure how Universal will handle the switch from the regular visitors to HHN. Its possible that it might be better to hit USF first just so you are not there close to closing time. But I almost always recommend visiting IoA first so you can do the shorter attractions while there are no lines.

i usually say the same thing, do IOA first for the big rides.

if you are not into coasters, the jurassic park area has the dinosauer area, seussland for dr seuss rides and exploring play area.......extremely colorful and all themeing follows his books, and the super heroes come out in marval land at different times of the day on atvs

you can do pictures with the heroes at various times at the shop near spiderman. spidey is a fun ride but don't know if the 4 year old would enjoy it as much as the 7 year olds would. it has some spining to it and can be loud.

the studios has a play area for all kids, ET ride is fun, barney show, characters in the park at different places, jimmy neutron ride, shrek, MIB which is a similar set up at buzz lightyear where you ride in a car and shoot aliens to gain points.

this link will give you the height requirement for some of the rides.

universal has the child swap program for kids unable to go on a ride.

If you decide to do only one park, I would go for the Studios. I think that there's more to explore and just plain more fun things for young kids. That is unless they're heavily into superheroes like our son. Then by all means go to IOA.

Whatever you decide, I think that those imaginative kids will enjoy either park.
