This will be our first 4th of July at WDW. Which fireworks display should we see? MK, Epcot, or MGM?

MK fireworks sound the most impressive, but the park is also the most crowded. If possible, spend most of the day at another park, then move over to MK at night. If MK has late fireworks, you might even be able to see Illuminations at Epcot and then go to MK for their show.

We were at the World this past July 4th and were able to get an outside seat at the Rose & Crown for dinner (@ 8:00). I would have to say the fireworks at Epcot were AWESOME! I can't vouch for any of the other parks as this was our first trip on the 4th, but we will be returning for the Epcot fireworks again! Very impressive!!!! I still get goosebumps thinking about them, it was really incredible!

hi
do all the parks do something special for 4th july, we will be there at that time and i have heard that mk is way too crowded:D

thanks eve:D

We spent this past 4th of July at MGM since they had "Sorcery in the Sky" which was fantastic. We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn so we had to decide between EPCOT and MGM and we decided to eat at the Brown Derby and enjoy MGM. I didn't think the crowds were that out of hand. We spend Christmas/New Years Eve 2001 at WDW and the parks were more crowded then I thought.

WE did MK this past July 4th and I was worried about the crowds - and to be honest, we got there around 9:30 from AKL and with fast passes we got to do all the rides we wanted. We left around 2 and it was getting unbelievably crowded - came back for dinner at the castle at 6:00 and then we went outside the park for the fireworks(took a while to leave since Main St was a can of sardines - but they funneled everyone out through the stores and it moved quickly). We watched the 360 degree fireworks display - along with the water parade - right at the bus stops and when it was finished, we got on the first AKL bus and were back at the hotel within 15 minutes of the fireworks ending. I HATE crowds, and I would go back again on the 4th. Something about being in the MK on the 4th is very special.

We (me, DH, cousins - then 11 and 13) were in WDW for July 4, 2001.

I had (pretty far in advance, I think) made priority seatings at Tony's. We started the day at AK, went back to the hotel for a few hours in the afternoon, then headed to the MK around 4 or 5.

I'll admit that I was really, really worried about the gates closing, but it wasn't a problem (though I do they they did hit max capacity and closed the gates by about 7). We had a nice dinner, watched the (absolutely amazing) fireworks from Toontown, and then enjoyed the late closing time. The park didn't close until 1 or 2 a.m. and for the last hour or two the kids had an amazing time walking onto anything they wanted over and over again . . . since most people left after the fireworks.

I agree - it was very special to be in the MK for July 4.
