:wave: hi :wave:

i am in major planning mode at the moment and i'm trying to pick which park we will do on our first day,i thought about doing animal kingdom seeing as with the time difference we will be up early::yes:: then heading back to our pool for a restfull afternoon

we are not planning on going to the virgin meeting so that we can get a good early start on the parks:D

i would love to hear what you all do for your first full day at the parks::yes::

thanks eve::MinnieMo

Hi Eve

On our first days we have gone to Seaworld, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom. This was soley based on Simon's book which gives an excellent guide to how busy the parks are on which days. Ideally I would love to always do the Magic Kingdom first as it gives me a warm feeling in my tummy and makes me smile to myself (alot!!!) :hyper: I always feel as soon as I arrive I want to immerse myself in a bit of Disney magic and go straight to a Park!! Thankfully, DH is a bit more sensible than I am and makes me wait until the next day :mad: Although, when I flake out on the day of arrival at 9pm, I guess I have to admit that he's probably right :rolleyes: Oh, I'm so excited!!!!!!!

We normally always do AK first as we are up early & the animals are most active then & relatively speaking it is an "easy" park as there is lots of shows & it is less spread out than other parks. As DD was also 3 the first time we tok her we thought MK might raise her expectations about other parks too high & this seemed a happy compromise between characters, ridses & educational experiences

OK for the last three times :) We start our day with Animal Kingdom!

We always get one of the first PS's for Donalds Restaurantasurus. We tend to stay at AK until lunch time when we start to get tired and then head out for an afternoon rest and splash at the pool. We tend to head out again in the evening to a park or for dinner.

Eve - another vote here for AK. We are always up and attam really early first day, so a nice leisurely brekkie then off to AK. It's a really nice relaxing park for mooch around and like Celestine says, get there early and most of the animals are really active. It's the sort of park where you can do most of it in 3/4 day, so you're right you can be back to the pool in the afternoon without feeling you've missed out on anything:earsgirl:

Hi
we usually do typhoon lagoon on 1st day, just to get over flight i just love the lazy river:flower:
this year though it is gonna be discovery cove:jumping1:
Jeanette:cheer2:

Seaworld - nice intro to "parklife". Never that crowded and a nice relaxing first day stroll around with plenty of shade.

:cool:

Eve,

I am the odd one out here but personally (this is just me!) I have to do MK first. Until I have stood in Main Street looking up to the castle I'm not properly in Disney!!

Wherever else I went I would be wishing I was in MK. So I have to go and get it over with first!

I recognise that this is not a particularly sensible answer though so feel free to ignore me!!

Cheers

Karen

I'm with you Miffy - it's just got to be Magic Kingdom. I have been over and over the plan - thinking - Yes - Animal Kingdom would be sensible - or - even taking it easy around the shops - but at the end of the day we are there for the "Magic" so it's got to be M.K.

The feeling as you get to the TTC - the revolving Mickey Mouse bushes - the glimpse of the castle - the monorail - the moment you walk through the gates and into Main Street.......

CAN'T WAIT.......

Florry

Hey Red Snapper - thats not fair - you are going to be there a whole hour before us!!!!

:wave: hi :wave:

thank you all so much for taking the time to reply::yes::

karen,this was my first thought to go to magic kingdom to me disney is MK:D

mrs dazzle,kayleeuk and celestine,
animal kingdom does sound to be the better option so that we don't wear our self's out:D but i'll also be thinking i'm missing out on the magic of MK,i suppose i can always wait untill the hours are out and if it's open a bit later we could do this in the evening::yes::

red-snapper,claddagh and claire,we might not be doing seaworld on this trip my 2 boys want to do universal and IOA:rolleyes: they are telling me they don't want to go to seaworld so we will wait and see on that one:)

netty,we are doing typhoon lagoon on a rest day,my two would want to be at the water parks all day if they had their way:D

florry and miffy,i totally agree with what you say::yes:: i just love magic kingdom:D

thank you all again you have all given me something to think about:D

Hi Eve:wave:

We've decided to go to AK on our 1st day,or should i say "I" have decided were going to AK on our 1st day:teeth:

I've been told that you still wake up early,even though you've had a late night,so im going to make a PS for Boma around 7.30am if poss,then drive over to AK for opening.
:sunny:
Well this is my plan anyway not sure if it'll work or not;)

:earsgirl:

hi sharon:wave:

i will more than likely go with animal kingdom,i didn't think of having a nice breakfast in the morning something else i'll have to plan::yes::

thanks eve::MinnieMo

Just noticed your countdown 90 days out tomorrow :hyper:

Are you phoning for any 1st day PS's

:earsgirl:

great to read everyones plans, i too had planned for animal kingdom, same reasons, gentle introduction , smaller etc but, reading all the posts am desperate to go to MK again and am wondering if i will be wishing i was there.. especially as i spend most of my time wishing i was there anyway, to be so close and be somewhere else might be awful, so back to the drawing board i think! still plenty of time to change my mind back!:confused:

hi

this is my first trip but i decided to do animal kingdom first day. we are staying at the animal kingdom lodge so it makes sence to me to hang near for the first day. we have also made a PS at boma for breakfast that day too. nice easy day me thinks.

love lucy

hi sharon:wave:

i am going to wait untill the end of my time frame so that i can get them all done in one go::yes::

i have posted on the dining board where i am planning to eat if you want to have a look and give me your opinon;)

the only character place we are going to eat at is the ice-cream social and we are flexible and will take whatever they have to offer

what are your dining plans? are you doing a character meal?

eve::MinnieMo

Hi,
We too see it as a traddition to go to MK on day 1 even though we swear everytime we'll have a 'restful' day -never had one yet.

We like to get swept up with the Disney magic and where better than at MK.

Hi Eve:wave:

i've looked at your dining options and it sounds if you made some good choices:smooth: you have'nt got Boma on your list did you go on your last visit?

Here are the PS's we shall be making when our 90days are out;

Boma (breakfast) 1st day
Crystal Palace(breakfast) 3rd day
princess story book breakfast 10th day
Ice cream social 10th day
Pirate Cruise 12th day
Chef Mickey's 13th day
Grand Floridian afternoon tea 13th day

Then home:( :sad:
