My wife and I take the kids to WDW frequently, but this time I have business in Anaheim and only she and I can go. we've set aside one day to do a Disneyland park but are unsure as to which one would be best for us. We don't need parades or kiddie rides, we're more interested in more exciting rides and maybe nicer dining. Any advice would be great!

If can I would go with the one day park hopper, for about an extra $20pp you can visit both parks. This way you can hop between the two park. And since the parks are litterly accross the entrance plaza from one another park hopping is very easy (no need for long bus trips like with WDW).

For thrills try Indiana Jones and Matterhorn (both disneyland excluisives), as well as Splash and Thunder Mountain at Disneyland (Park). Soarin', Screamin, Grizzly River Run, Mallaboomer and Tower of Terror at California Adventure.

If I had to just pick one park I would of course have to go with Disneyland but for a first time one day trip I would deffiently recommend the one day park hopper.

I second the one-day hopper recommendation. You can only buy them at the gate--no pre-sale on these. Both parks have wonderful attractions for adults. I highly recommend that you make a PS for the Blue Bayou (it's a restaurant inside POTC). I hear the Trattoria at DCA is good too (have not eaten there personally).
