We're about to make our first trip to WDW. I've been gathering info and opinions galore. I've read that MK is so magical that everything else will pale in comparison, so you should not do it first. Please give me you humble opinions on how true that is and what order you would suggest visiting the parks. We'll be there for 6 full days and 2 half days (travel days).

We usually like to go to AK on the first day of our trip, low key, closes early, Restaurantosaurus has McDonald's food - easy and familiar for the kids. They really enjoy AK and last year, we got there about an hour after opening and saw a total of 17 characters, and we were not there the entire day!

Usually will go to MK second day in the late afternoon/evening after morning/early afternoon at Epcot or MGM.

Hope this helps!

I personally like to go to MK the first day and return again another day! It is the most fun park for me and my family!

Im a teen by the way, so if you have little kids and want it to be very magical, i would suggest going on your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. day

We have two teenager girls - 16 and 13. We just adopted the 13 yo so this will be her first time. We'll be there for 5 days/4 nights. I have it in my itinerary to go to MK the evening we get there. We arrive around 2p and will stay for the e-ride. Then we'll be there on our last day for the EMH until heading over to GF for the spa and CR for parasailing. We leave for the airport at 5p.

We're hitting Epcot on our second day, AK then MGM on our third, and MGM then TL on our fourth.

We did MK on our first full day (no parks on arrival day) and again on our last day. I'm planning to do it that way every time, it made for a terrific beginning and ending to the trip. :earsgirl:

I think it's great to do MK as the first park! For us, it is the most fun and magical, and we love to begin and end our trips there. And it does not make the other parks seem less fun. :)
