Which parade----AK or MGM???

Hi everyone!!

The last trip we took (In June) we only saw one parade--Spectromagic!!

This trip (in October) my goal is to see both the Share A Dream Come True Parade and ONE other.

Our first day in the parks will be at AK (I LOVE AK!!) would you recommend staying the entire day at AK and seeing the Jammin' Jungle Parade or hopping over to MGM to see Stars and Motor Cars??

I had planned to go over to MGM after we were finished with AK anyway.....but I know we won't be able to make it to both parades -----so which would you choose???

P.S.--it's just DD (age 8) and myself. She's not the biggest parade fan in the world (but she did enjoy Spectromagic). BTW, the rest of the trip will focus on MK and water parks, we probably won't be back to either park----also we had planned on going on a Monday and that's AK's EMH day.

IMHO I liked Jammin' Jungle Parade. The music was great and so was the interaction with the floats and the characters. The Stars and Motor Cars parade was o.k. If you enjoy AK, then I highly recommend Jammin' Jungle Parade.

I'll play devils advocate-- I really like the stars and motorcars parade. I like the variety of characters that are in it. You don't see them in any of the other parades. However, I am a parade fan and thoroughly enjoy all of the Disney parade's. So, I really don't think you can go wrong with any choice. If you are planning on spending the day already at AK, then it may be wise to conserve time and just stay there.

If I had to choose between the 2, I would probably go with the AK parade. The one at MGM is nice, but I think she may enjoy the other one better. One tip. Bring earplugs. The speakers are located in each float and I found it to be quite loud at times. If you look at the CM's driving them, you'll see they are all wearing them. Also, Donald's float both squirts and splashes water, so watch your camera on that one.

If your daughter likes animals, go for Jammin' Jungle, the main stars are Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Rafiki, with oversized animal puppets.
If your daughter likes Snow White, Bear, Lilo and Stitch, Monsters Inc, Toy Story, Kermit and Miss Piggy, and Mary Poppins, check out the Stars and Motorcars parade at MGM. These and other characters are featured, as well as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. Stars&Cars is narrated by the Streetmosphere characters, like a parade on TV.

I have the exact same dilemma. Are there any other characters in the Jammin Jungle parade besides the regulars and Rafiki? Any other Lion King or Jungle Book or Tarzan characters? Thanks.

If your daughter is creative, she'll LOVE the figures/characters/rides/floats of the parade at the AK.

After showing our granddaughter photos of the parade, she wanted to MAKE her own articulated parade vehicle out of straws, paper and paints and an old dolls car she had. LOL

If she's more into the Disney characters, then I'd go with the MGM parade.


I guess I'm partial to the AK parade because of the cool crittermobiles that roll along!

We like both but the AK parade is awsome. It is also a longer parade route and it's easier to get a good place close to parade time so you waste less time waiting. We are however whole park day people at AK so staying till the parade time is no big deal.

Definately the Jammin' in the Jungle parade. no contest!! My kids saw both and loved the AK parade the mgm was juts nice but he other is awesome!!! Have fun!

My favorite of the two is the AK Jammin' in the Jungle parade--love the music and we bought the parade CD on our last trip. My 3 yr old dd and niece really like to listen to that one. The parade is colorful, but I agree that you see a lot of characters you don't otherwise see at MGM.

The MGM parade is beautiful! I've seen it twice and will catch it again in April. But I am not a big fan of AK.

Br'er Rabbit, Rafiki, Terk, Baloo (?), Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and the stilt-walkers, animal floats, giant animal puppets, and animal rickshaws carrying randomly selected guests.

I'd never be able to pick between those parades. They both are the best in the World. So fret not, either one will be great. Lots of characters in both. Have fun!

I enjoyed the MGM parade best ! The cars were very creative and there were charcters from Disney Movies and TV, but also muppets, Star wars etc.

They're both good parades, and very different. I prefer the AK parade because it has the feel of a big Broadway production. Huge splashes of color, larger than life animals, lots of guest interaction, and surprises that really make the kids laugh. Having seen the MGM parade I could miss it next time down, but I'd make it a point to go back to AK to see Jammin' Jungle again.

Definately AK Jammin Jungle parade! It's a fun parade...I think the best in WDW (other than spectro)
