We are planning on doing Universal Or IOA at the end of sept begining of oct...it will be Dh me, dd4 and ds 2. DD loves rides., DH does not like heights or rollercoasters, im a coaster junkie and ds will only be around 36 or 37" tall then, which park do you think we should do? I did universal when i was 17 but i didnt pay attention to stuff for the LO's.

Well...that's a tough one. Both parks have coasters for you to ride and hopefully the Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit (HR3) will be open at the Studios. The kids have great play areas in both parks so they should have fun regardless. IOA has more themeing than the Studios so really...it's going to be up to you. That time of year is getting into Halloween Horror Nights so the Studios will close earlier than IOA. But again...if you go during the week you shouldn't have any serious crowds at all. I like both parks and I think you would have fun either way. Check out the interactive map on the Universal website and see what's in each park.

I would do US because there is something for everyone there. Your youngest will have a great time in Fievel's Playground (bring dry clothes). ET, Shrek & Jimmy Neutron are all family friendly as is the Animal Actors show. For bigger rides there is Men in Black (a more ramped up version of Buzz Lightyear at MK), Disaster (similar to the Backlot Tour at DHS), Jaws, Revenge of the Mummy (rollercoaster), Twister and Terminator. Also, there's the Beetljuice Graveyard Review (song and dance - most songs are classic rock) and the Horror Make Up Show (great show - don't miss it if possible). With little ones and your DH not being into rollercoasters I think it will be a better fit for you.

Almost forgot about the Simpsons. Its a simulator ride and if you get motion sick easily I would skip this one. I kept my eyes closed through most of it. DS loved it (he can ride anything) and DD thought it was just ok. While she didn't feel sick, she's really not a Simpsons fan so it wasn't for her.

I would purchase a one day/two park then you can hit the higlights of both parks. Both parks have fun areas for little kids and thrill rides for older kids.

You and DD do IoA

Dh and Ds do US.

Seriously....please save up and do both...You can do it in a day....Your 'coaster' fix is in IoA. DD will love Seuss in IoA.

I don't do crazy coasters that you will like (like Hulk, Dragons) but if your DH is like me - he will enjoy "Themed Coasters/Simulators" like Mummy's (US) and Spiderman (IoA). All should like MIB (US). I think DS will like Woody/Barney and the Animal show(all US) is a really cute show if kids like animals.....and what kids don't?

Plus if DS can enjoy Shrek and Jimmy Neutron.....

Don't tell "Walt" but the Simpsons ride was my FAVORITE ride of last year's trip (July 2008). I think all will enjoy that.....

Have a Great Trip!
