Which One Would YOU Want To Do?

I vote Alaskan cruise. I say that because DH and I are going on one next year for our 40th anniversary. Everyone I have talked with who has gone on an Alaskan cruise has really good things to say and had a great time. Good luck choosing. You have alot of great choices.

We did Aulani last year with a trip to DL on the way back for our 3oth. Had a blast.
Next year, we are doing the Alaskan cruise. Cannot wait!
The year after, we would like to do Route 66.
So many choices...
Happy Anniversary whichever you choose!

Personally, to me a road trip would be absolute torture - definitely not a vacation. Getting in the car is just necessary to get to my destination. I would choose Hawaii or Alaska cruise & tour. Those are both vacations we will take when we have less college expenses and more disposable income (3-4 yrs, can't wait!).

If you do Hawaii don't cruise. Fly in. Not enough time to see everything on a cruise. Or fly in, sight see and then take a cruise home.

Hawaii and island hop. That's what we are doing for our 15th this October. :flower3:

Cruising home would take 4-5 days, which I'd rather spend on the islands. Even a week on each island barely scratches the surface of things to do there.

Congrats on the upcoming milestone! I've never done any of those things so all of those trips sound awesome to me! We're planning an out west trip when I finish grad school and I can't wait. I'd probably pick a cruise for an anniversary, though, just because it sounds so relaxing and you can let someone else do the navigating lol

DH and I will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in September. I just made reservations for a night in Mackinaw City, and 2 nights on Mackinaw Island for a little "anniversary getaway" that month. But, we would also like to do something "bigger" either this coming winter or next summer. For our 25th we did a 7-night Disney Magic cruise (our first cruise) and 4-nights at WDW that following January. We could wait for our 50th, the "bigger" anniversary but we learned from DH's Mom that you should do what you can when you can and not always "wait for tomorrow" because sometimes "tomorrow" doesn't come (she passed away at age 62 from ALS and never saw her 40th anniversary).

So, we have been tossing around ideas:

1. Alaskan cruise/tour, OR take a few weeks and drive (pickup camper) to Alaska ourselves.

2. Hawaii - either fly and spend 2 weeks and see 2-3 different islands or cruise from California.

3. Route 66 road trip next summer, with the truck camper.

4. "Out West" road trip (again, with the truck camper) to see Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, etc.

We just can't seem to make a decision, and if we're going to do something this winter we need to get it planned SOON.

So, if you had the choice, which one of those would YOU do?

Or, if you've done any of these please tell me about your experience and maybe make some suggestions to enhance the trip, things to do, things to see, etc.

Thanks!

3 or 4. That's our 'big trip' that we want to do sometime in the next 5 years or so. We want to drive cross country and back, or alternatively, fly to Seattle and then drive down the west coast and all the way to the mexican border.
