I am new here and need some advice. I have read several threads on here about the Ploy and the Contemporary. I am trying to decide which one to stay at. There will be 3 adults and 2 kids in the room. Please tell me your opinions and experiences in each resort. Thanks!

We'll be staying at the Poly for the 2nd time in October. It has the best transportation options, hands down, of all the Disney resorts. We love the Poly and WL about equally.

While CR does have that nice easy walk to MK, the resort itself just does not appeal to us.

We LOVED the Polynesian.

I've never stayed at the CR, so I can't comment on that resort. But to me, the Poly was paradise!

It says that the Poly can accomodate 5 in a room. Do those of you that have stayed there think this is true?

Poly rooms are a bit larger than most other Deluxe resorts. But to accommodate 5, you'd need a roll away bed, or a crib, depending on the age of the 5th guest of course. It might be a little cramped, but it would be doable.

We stayed at the Poly with 2 adults and 3 kids. One of the kids was 6 and slept on a day bed/sofa. We loved it there. I think you spend so little time in the room that it is very doable. You will love the pools and the monorail makes getting around easy.

Sounds Like Poly will be the right choice. I like the thought of the monorail. It will be 3 adults and 2 kids, we have to take my mother in law. My kids will be 7 and 9. DO you still think this will be OK. Pretty much just need somewhere to sleep. We stayed at ASMO a couple of months ago that was our very 1st trip to WDW EVER. We didnt really care for it at all. But you get what you pay for.

I think you will be fine with five. Be sure to walk the grounds of the Poly after dark---maybe MIL would watch the kids for a little while. The paths are lit and very beautiful views--very romantic!
Deb P.S. they also have a kids club there on site. You used to pay for 3 hours ? of activities for the kids--including dinner. They do all kinds of fun stuff and the adults can get away for dinner. My boys loved it! They were 10-8-6 at the time.

I am sure MIL wont mind watching them for a little while since we are treating her to a vacations at WDW. A kids club on site. WOW the kids will love that.

Are there any specific bldgs we should ask for? We prefer to be close to transportation.

We stayed at the CRTower in June and loved it. 10th floor--MK view--watched Wishes from our balcony/sometimes bed at night...Loved the monorail, loved the quick walk to MK, loved the CMs, loved the Concourse area with the shops, loved the room--funky decor and lots of room--daughter slept on comfy daybed, loved the pool...Just thought I'd chime in here in defense of the CR!
:)

P.S.--Planning to try the Poly on our next trip. I think you can't go wrong either way... :flower:

I'd definitely go with the Poly. The rooms are more than big enough for 5. In fact my dd (6) loves the day bed at the GF (similar to the Poly's). ALso when we were there in July we took the kids to the Neverland Kids Club for the first time and they didn't want to leave. I don't think you can go wrong with the Poly. Have a great time.

Poly can definitely handle 5, we did it in July. 2 adults in 1 bed, 1 adult & child in the other, 1 child on the sleepr -or- if the 1 adult wants his own bed, get a rollaway! Definitely do the POLY!!!!

We've stayed at both and we and our older kids (8 and 10) prefer the CR. The rooms are as big as the Poly.

The monorail is awesome, you've got the walk to MK, great restaurants and shops. The CMs were wonderful. We all liked the atmosphere at the CR better.
