Help me choose our resort for our next trip please :)
Assume that the cost is relatively the same for all 3 options.
Going in September with my 7yr old daughter. Our last trip was at CBR and we loved it!

Really really enjoy having the Skyliner right there! Daughter is a real fan of waterslides so AOA has a slight disadvantage. Although the theming of the resort gains some points back.
We will probably have Hopper if that makes a difference..

I would not stay at a skyliner resort during rainier months (Aug. Sept are the worst in my opinion). I know others will say they've never had an issue and that's great for them, but as much as we really enjoy the convenience of the skyliner; during stormy months it is not worth the hassle to us. We did it once and won't do it again. When it's working; it's great, but when it goes down (which is very oftem in Aug./Sept.) it's so disappointingly ridiculous and inefficient. For whatever reason Disney has not consistently had decent communication about it's status nor a good/fast alternative during the transition between skyliner/bus.

We'd do POR - slide and boat to DS and not as big as CS.

I would go Coronado if it was the tower. Skyliner and evening thunderstorms aren’t a great mix . I would go Riverside.

Wil you have lots of down time? I think you get access to both Riverside and FQ pools.

Will you take advantage of the free waterpark on check-in day? Maybe she won’t care a much about smaller slides is she goes to a waterpark- AOA looks so fun for younger kids!

To clarify a few things…

We won’t have much down time, it’s only a short 5 day trip this time. And yes, probably going to the waterpark on first day if all goes well.

I get what you are all saying about the skyliner going down. It didn’t last time but maybe we were just really lucky.

For those of you who have stayed at both, how do you compare CBR and CSR in terms of size of the resort? People told us CBR was way too big, but we didn’t find it that bad. Yeah the bus loop can take a few extra minute but no big deal..

We loved CBR for many reasons, but never stayed at CSR so I can't give you any opinion.

If you’re fine with the size and bus loop at CBR, I think you’d enjoy either Riverside or CSR. Riverside is a quick walk to POFQ and you can boat to Disney Springs so that is nice perk. Otherwise, pick the theming that most appeals to you. :)

Pools: POR & CSR over AOA
Food: AOA over POR & CSR (only slightly)
Transportation: AOR, then POR (I like the boat to the Springs), then CSR which only has bus
Rooms: Pretty close if only staying with 4 or less
Size of Resort: POR we always felt close to the pool & dining. AOA you can be far from main area. CSR you can be really far if you get the wrong room.
Bonuses: AoA you can walk over to Pop. POR you can walk over to French Quarter. AoA has some of the best theming.
Negatives: CSR is sometimes convention heavy. Didn't notice last time but can be. AoA no slide in pool if your child likes that. Bus lines were frustrating at times.

Honestly can't go wrong with any but I rank: 1. AoA (Skyliner gets me) 2. (close second) POR 3. CSR

I vote Riverside. It's one of my favorite resorts period. The Royal Rooms may be nice with your 7 year old (assuming they aren't refurbing them by then because apparently that's happening relatively soon).

I vote CSR. The pool is awesome and the slide is the longest of all the mods. Plus, you will enjoy the benefits of the Tower as well. If staying at CSR, request NOT to be in the Ranchos so you are closer to the tower and lobby areas.

CSR is the only answer if your DD loves slides! And the pool is themed so well with amenities right there. My kids were done with POR slide by time they were her age. They loved CSR slide and we stayed there right through adulthood with it their favorite pool and resort. The tower adds even more dining to the plentiful options.

CSR. It feels more like a deluxe resort than a moderate. Heck, we found it far preferable to the Polynesian!

Coronado. I think the pool area is better than Riverside. Plus more dining choices, and I think the busses there are better than the other 3 moderates. .

Coronado - even if not Tower.

AoA you have the potential cluster of a Skyliner shutdown if storms or mechanical issues. And I just don't like the themeing of either of the PO resorts.

Riverside for boat transportation to DS and POFQ, great QS dining, evening entertainment in the bar, relaxed atmosphere and great pool with slide.IMHO.
