I can't decide between the Sci-Fi Dine In, Whispering Canyon Cafe, 1900 (dinner) or the Plaza Restaurant. Which one would you choose & why? Which one would you avoid & why?

I would never ever eat any meal at 1900 PF...the food is so gross and over salted that it is to the inedible point, the noise level is ridiculous and the servers are terrible.

Sci Fi was great and we love the atmosphere...The Plaza is a nice break but I wouldnt eat dinner there, I would go for lunch instead

When we go we always make sure to have at least one meal at the Sci-fi Diner. Thats my two cents. Hope that helps

Sci Fi is a must for do us. DD requests it as her pick every trip.

Its something that you cannot get anywhere else, the movie, random screams, cars, its so corny but we love it. The food is basic burgers and fries, the milk shakes are out of this world. (We always get burgers even if its dinner time.) I cannot get a cheesecake like that anywhere else, lol! Its not gourmet but fun dining!

We avoid Whispering Canyon. Too loud, chaos, too long a wait with an ADR we waited over an hour. Too small of a waiting area, but DD wanted to play with the toys. Our food was gross, I should have sent it back but we had waited so long to get it...

1900 Park fare is a basic Disney buffet with Cinderella thrown in. The food was alright but we havent done it in a year. Dh wants to go back this August for the clams so its back on the to do list for us. Not bad but not memorable.

The plaza is sandwiches, basic, nothing outstanding. We had a decent meal here, in a pinch we would go back but nothing to make us come back year after year to it.

Sci-Fi was disgusting the first and last time we ate there. WCC has been great the three times we've eaten there.

I would go to the Plaza. I would avoid Sci Fi because of the bad meal I had there (though that was years ago) and WCC because I'm not into the antics.

We keep going back to WCC and Sci-Fi and we took Sci-Fi off our dinner plans this upcoming trip. We like WCC more for food and antics. We are doing Sci-Fi for lunch in Sept tho since we have Deluxe Dining.

Interesting that Sci-Fi is so popular. I've eaten there and didn't particularly enjoy it. Not a place I plan on eating at again. I would love to try WCC, though.

Amazing how views on the same resturant differ. I loved the Park Fare.
Thought the food was better than all the other buffets and liked the atmosphere. WE loved Fairy Godmother.

To be honest, I don't really like any of them. But if I had to choose, I would choose Whispering Canyon for the food. I don't eat pork, but their pulled pork is really good. :thumbsup2 (Still surprises me to this day that I liked it.)

Although the characters are great, especially Anastasia and Drizella and even Lady Tremaine at 1900 Park Fare, the food is not good. I may be biased since we try not to eat at any buffets. We absolutely do not like buffet food.

Sci Fi Dine In has a cool theme, but the food isn't good either. My children like it so we tend to go once in awhile.

The food at The Plaza isn't really great either and, as someone has already mentioned, it's a better place to eat for lunch. It's mostly sandwiches and salads.

Keep in mind that just because I do or do not like certain restaurants, it doesn't mean that you will feel the same way. I don't think you should avoid any of these places. But I just don't consider them a must do either.

Good Luck.

I picked The Plaza. Have had good food there!
We did not like 1900 Park Fare and to us Sci-Fi was not as good as it used to be still ok but it was better a couple of years ago. This past trip I did not even eat our dessert it was yucky! The milkshakes are good there though :thumbsup2!! The only one we have not tried was WCC.

Funny, I didn't really like the Sci-Fi theme and I LOVE Disney buffets.

Exactly, to each his own! :thumbsup2

Although, I will admit I don't care for the Sci Fi theme either, but for my 10 year old son, it's amazing!:confused3

Everyone in the family gets to choose, so, this is usually my son's choice (although I have been known to try and change his mind), my daughter chooses the Princess Dinner at Akershus (also, not fond of the food), my husband chooses Le Cellier. Then I choose the rest which is the other 11 restaurants - so you see, I'm good!:rotfl:

I did not realize the food was that bad at 1900 Park Fare. :scared1: It's been several years since I've dined there and the food was ok, but not great.

I like the atmosphere at Sci-Fi, but the food was not that great when I went in 2006, so I'm teetering on this one.

I have not been to Whispering since 2003 and the food was pretty good.

Boy, this is going to be a difficult decision.
:confused3

I would avoid the Whispering Cafe at all costs! I am NOT a picky diner but this place was horrible!

We dined there last August and the food was a 1 star out of 5 and the service was a 0 out of 5!! And we got put outside on the patio, even though I requested that we sit inside, and were completely ignored. When I commented that I wanted to be inside where the action was I was pretty much told those tables were for parties of 4 or more so we were penalized because there were only 2 of us.

We paid out of pocket for this meal = almost $70 for me and my son for 2 skillets and 2 drinks and tip (which I only tipped 2% and left a note as to why). We paid for the bottomless milkshake for my son and he only got 1 milkshake the entire time. Our waiter said he would get him a refill twice but that never happened. My diet soda was never refilled.

The Skillet: chicken was extremely dried out and stuck to the bone. Corn on the cob was beyond soggy and lacked any flavor. Baked beans were Ok. Cornbread was as hard as a rock! I have blocked the rest from memory.

Diner's beware.

I know that Whispering Canyon would be our last choice; I did not feel very well after eating there. The others are probably ok.
