Which one will I regret the most?

UPDATE: it seems that v1 MagicBands, sadly, no longer work. Mine has even been unceremoniously deleted from mydisneyexperience 😿
It should not have been deleted just inactivated. You should still be able to select any V1 MB and activate it again. Check your MDE profile via the Web interface or on your smartphone. I just checked a few V1 MB and they were there just not Activated.

I'm scheduled to visit EPCOT next month and will give it another try. Perhaps there was a mass-deactivation in the app, and everyone jumped to the wrong conclusion 🤞
It should work just fine since you re-activated it in your MDE profile. Yes Disney did a mass deactivation of the V1 MBs in MDE but that just changes the state it does not delete them. That's why you are able to just activate it again.

Maybe hold off on writing the v1 MagicBand's epitath for a bit… even though a cast member did tell me they don't work anymore after I was unable to get into Magic Kingdom with one last week, I was able to reactive it in the Disney World app just now.

Mine worked just fine this past weekend. It’s from 2019. Perhaps just a technical glitch?

Ah do you actually have a V1 MB? Here are 2 examples. The Orange one on the right with the smooth sides is a original V1 MB. Disney did a mass deactivation of the V1 MBs in MDE but that just changes the state it does not delete them.

The MB on the left is a V2 with the first version of the Puck that was removable from the band.

Thanks for the clarification! I have two V2 bands, one from 2018 and one from 2019. Weirdly, I went back and looked in MDE and they are both still active, but the icon for oldest one is the rectangular V1 shape.

My preference is to not be tied to my cell phone the entire vacation. To that end, we'll be doing everything we can to find alternatives.
I get it but you'll be "wasting time" searching for all those alternatives, How will you be searching and what will you be using to plan?

Disney is all about technology, which can be time saving. Time has a value which is often overlooked on Disney trips.

Every post on this thread will be different but most will be pointing out the conveniences available with technology. Use it in moderation.

Now if your taking this stance because you're overwhelmed or don't want to learn it (first timer), I predict your experience will be good but limited.

You're right! At the entrance gate, it looked like my v1 had been deleted. In retrospect, I must just have missed that it was (newly?) categorized into a separate, non-plus MagicBands section (and deactivated.)

I wonder why? To my mind, v1's are best… they have the least bulk.

…totally worked. Sorry to pass on misinformation!

My preference is to not be tied to my cell phone the entire vacation. To that end, we'll be doing everything we can to find alternatives. I'm curious, in your opinion, which thing I will regret the most from the list below? We are a first-time, family of five visiting the Beach Club resort from Aug 22-29.

~Key to the world instead of bands or cell phone
~No Genie+. We will rope drop instead and plan extensively beforehand
~No online meal orders. We will stand in line.
I would most regret standing in line for food. I consider online ordering the best thing since sliced bread. I love being able to pass the phone around so that each person can get exactly what they want with their own specific customization, not having to stand all crowded in a huge line of people where the person in front apparently forgot they were in a restaurant for the last 20 minutes and decides to look at the menu for the first time when they finally get to the cashier, being able to choose a time my food will be ready, and literally always getting exactly what I ordered with no drama. I may never again stand in line at a quick service.

I know this is an old thread, but we LOVE mobile order. Started using it as soon as it rolled out, even before Covid. So far, great experiences, rarely wait long for food, while I see the regular lines backed way up. I detested QS lines, I'd always end up stuck behind someone ordering for their party of 15 and just now looking at the menu......
We also use it frequently for wait times, and of course , the VQs, and getting notified when the VQ is called. Haven't ever LLMP, so no idea how often phone would be needed for that.
I have no issue at all using my cell phone often at Disney. I use it for pictures and videos, and I often find myself solo in standby lines, and it's great for keeping me occupied.

Having a cell phone for online ordering (very useful) or others doesn't mean you have to be tied to it. :)

I don't have a cell phone and do just fine when I go to Disney. I use my magic band because it's convenient, but actually, don't even really need it as I don't charge to the room. When I go to a park, I put my credit card and license in a little fabric zip wallet that fits in my jeans pocket and I'm off. I could easily put a key card in there, also. I find the rubber on the magic band gets annoying, but I hate to take it off for fear of losing it. I might just resort to the key card and be done with it all.
