We are now coming in on Thanksgiving and I had to scramble to get an adr. I got lucky and came across two places we've never tried, but I'm pretty certain our family would enjoy.

Which would you pick and why?

Cape May
Yachtsman Steakhouse

We are paying OOP.

TIA :goodvibes!!

It's a draw for me.

OOP Cape May is probably the better deal since it is all you can eat. I like the food at both places, Yachtsman Steakhouse has better food though if you really want to splurge. But Cape May Cafe has great salads, and I love the chocolate lava cake they have for dessert, plus the crab legs are decent, and they have the best macaroni and cheese on property, but you can't beat Yachtsman if you want steak.

I've read and heard that Yachtsman is very inconsistent and our experience affirmed that. Two of our three entrees were great. Too pricey for that to be our takeaway. I know that many people love it so they definitely have their good days but I don't want to risk it.

We would do Yachtsman over Cape May any day. Our experience at YSH has been uniformly great. That's over probably 20 visits in the last 4-5 years. The food is always cooked exactly the way you ask for it. The service is great and the overall atmosphere is wonderful.

Cape May appeals to the folks that are more interested in the quantity than the quality of food. If you come from a place that has good seafood, you won't be impressed with the CM buffet.

We have reservations at Cape May. They are serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner buffet style which is just what we wanted. Some of the restaurants are just serving the traditional meal, others will serve both. (there are also 7 of us, including a 5 and 6 y/o...so this choice worked!)

I would pick Cape May but only because I'm all about salads and boiled shrimp.

How did you find this out? We're definitely going with Cape May as I was able to get a 7pm. Yachtsman would have been later so I cancelled it. So, will Cape May not have any seafood that night?

Ask when you call. Holidays are different and many places do a speical holiday menu. Some make it traditional and others keep their "theme" but still make a special spin on it.

We have eaten at Cape May for our Thanksgiving dinner twice now and it was exellent both times. Both years about half the buffet was traditional Thanksgiving items, and the other half salads and seafood. Their desserts were to die for, and there were so many different ones to try. The first time we had a party of 15, and everyone really enjoyed their Thanksgiving dinner. Two years later we were in WDW for Thanksgiving again and staying at BC for that trip. When it came time to book Tday dinner it was a no brainer, Cape May had been so enjoyable the first time that we booked it again, and it did not disappoint. After dinner you should take time to walk the lake and check out all the decorations at the resorts. We toured BC, YC, BW, Swan and Dolphin. It was a very nice evening and is sure to put anyone in the Christmas spirit.

Just to be fair, we've also dined at Yatchsman's and had a fantastic meal. We actually ate at Yatchsman's on the same trip as our Cape May Thanksgiving dinner. While Yatchsman's was absolutely incredible we felt for a family Tday meal Cape May was the better choice, and a lot cheaper. DH and I did Yatchsman's as a date night so only had to foot the bill for 2 adults. Good luck with your decision.

I called Disney Dining a week or so ago to ask which restaurants were serving Thanksgiving dinner. The CM had a list from the sounds of it because he ran through the restaurants. Some were just serving traditional Thanksgiving meals...CM being one of them. I didn't ask what of their typical buffet is available with that. I don't remember what other restaurants were having tho.
