They insist they want no gifts, and if they want something they buy it so there is not much fun stuff left to get them.

My parents always tell me the same thing, but I never listen! :goodvibes Books are always good gifts and I got my mom a Snuggie this year!

My mom bought a Flowbee which is like a huge family joke, I think maybe a Snuggie is a good idea

I posted a Snuggie before the poll was up! :rotfl: So my vote is for that!

First I need to know what a Flowbee is.:)

It is a hari cutting device you hook up to the vaccum. It was in informercials back in the 80's, they made fun of it on SNL (the SUCK CUT) and my mom bought one. Lol, we used to joke around at family parties and cut my dads hair with it. It did a pretty good job if you like the "bowl" haircut. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I googled it. As much as I hate lotteries, my mother loves those scratch tickets. DH always buys her about $50 worth, which to me is the same as throwing it in the trash after tearing it up, lol. If they like them, go for it.

I only say that because I have scratchy old towels and they are my favorite!:goodvibes

I voted the towels, but I would throw in a couple scratch offs too just for fun.

Oh, wow, hard choice!!! My MIL said several years ago that after you have been married for 30 years you should be entitled to another "bridal" shower to replace all your towels, etc :lmao:. As the weather gets colder the Snuggie looks better and better :thumbsup2 and the lotto tickets are always good. Can't you do them all???

The practical part of me says go for the towels.

I LOVE my leopard print snuggie! I look like a complete fool, but when I'm cold I cuddle up on the sofa with my suggie and all is good with the world!:cloud9:

New fluffy towels - there's nothing worse than drying yourself on old, worn out crunchy ones!

I voted for towels. If they will be really mad about a "gift" don't wrap them. Just hand them over and let them know that you noticed them on sale and that they may could use them and keep it low key.

I voted for towels, but be warned. My Mom would put away those nice new towels for a special occassion or visitors - which translates to - they will never be used! :rotfl:

I wouldn't be happy if my DD got me a Snuggie.
I would love new towels.....and my old ones aren't nastly :rotfl:
I agree....throw in a couple scratch tickets for fun, but I wouldn't want them for my present.

I hit the jackpot ! The spa towels (ie HUGE and super fluffy) were 50% off! I got some normal sized and some giant ones and I will throw in some scratch offs. :) I am so glad to have it done, now I gotta wrap em....or toss em in a gift bag....they are super soft, if they are still on sale after the holiday, I may get myself a couple.

If possible I would suggest confiscating the old towels from your parents when you give them the new ones ;) You can always cut them up into rags or something if they don't want the waste.

My parents and aunts/uncles redid my grandparents bathroom for Christmas. My Grandmother can no longer do the stairs so they converted their main floor half bath into a full. Total bathroom gut job....turned out really nice. My mom bought them all new towels for the bathroom. Went to visit and the old crusty towels were hanging up. They said the new ones were too nice to use :lmao: My mom immediately took all the old towels and cut them up into cleaning cloths. Grandfather was ticked but my mom was even more ticked. Lovely ;)
