Which one do I take - umbrella or jogging? I'm stressing!

Does anyone know if you can get a large bag to put your stroller in at gatecheck, you know similar to the ones they have when you check a carseat? I really do love my jogger and it's brand new, I'd hate for anything to happen to it, however, that's what we decided to take. Do you know if the airline reimburses if there is damage to a stroller? Maybe we will take the wheels off at the gate, it's pretty easy to do.

I just did a quick Google on "jogging stroller bag" and found a bunch. That could be a good idea. We have one for the carseat and it has kept the car seat in great shape, even through checked luggage. The bag itself has tears that we have mended with duct tape. EDIT: I just realized you may have meant the disposable bags, but I'll leave this in case you want to check out the cloth ones to purchase. We bought our stroller one for ~$25 and it can be worn like a backpack, which is a HUGE help going through the airport, especially when I'm travelling alone with DS.

I think that the airline does reimburse for damage, but I *believe* (from an experience with ruined luggage) that you have to go through one of their vendors for repair, so it's not a hassle I would deal with unless the stroller is completely ruined. Our stroller damage has been cosmetic. But probably someone else has experience with trying to deal with them for claims...

I believe you can buy single jogging stroller travel bags in the stores at Babies R Us and Baby Depot (Burlington Coat Factory), and online, of course. Double jogging stroller bags are harder to find, but we did get one, and sent our stroller through with the rest of the luggage. We flew SW, and there was no extra charge for the weight (>50 lbs) because it fell under one of their excess weight exceptions.

Since you will have a car, just drive yourself to the parks and walk from your car to the park entrance, this way you will not have to fold the bulky stroller for the tram ride.

Unless you get there before the park opens, you may be a long way from the entrance of the park. Especially at the TTC/MK parking lot.

Glad you decided on the jogger because that is my vote for sure. We have twins and now take a double jogger to Disney every single trip and it's the best investment I ever made. I bought a travel bag that is cloth/luggage material and we check-in our jogger right with our luggage. However, that is because our girls are older and we don't need the jogger to get through the airport anymore. We do have damage to our bag but only cosmetic stuff has happened to our jogger.

Before I read this quote...I would have said don't bother with bringing a stroller to the parks RENT ONE We went to Disney and brought our stroller the first few days (for DD1) and every time both my kids (DS5 and DD1)liked the strollers that Disney provided. They could both stretch out or snuggle together in the dual stroller. It held all the stuff we needed (parents, grandparents and kids stuff).
The reason I said before reading this quote was because we stayed at the POLY. I didn't have a problem loading our stroller on and off the tram but I can see how if you had to wait for a bus it may be difficult.
Don't stress...you 'll make whatever you bring work for you. Plus the stress part should be where do I eat first in Disney...:thumbsup2 . OK food at Disney Yummy Character dining even better kids have sooooo much fun.
