which on site resort?

Ok, I am strictly a Disney person but DH wants to try US and IOA on our next trip (May 2005). We definately going to stay at an on-site hotel but we are looking to price shop. The rates are not available for next year yet. Can someone give me an idea of average nightly rates for the 3 on-site properties?

Go to http://www.universalorlando.com and get the info you need there. They have descriptions of the hotels as well as rates.
You could also do a search on www.search.com after you decide which one you like best, and that will bring you to all kinds of sites that offer great rates at those hotels.

While I don't know the exact rates I do know they go in this order from most expensive to cheapest:

Portofino Bay
HRH
RPR

I got an Entertainment Card ("EC") rate for 8/29 to 9/1/04 of $119. standard view. I check for HRH and they quoted an EC rate of $164 for a standard view. They also have FanClub and AAA but the EC was the cheapest. HTH

If you are trying to decide on which resort you would need to think about what you and your family would like. From these posters you will read that each resort has its fans. You probably won't hear too many bad things about any of them.

They are all awesome. We love Disney resorts, but favor the Universal ones. Great overall experience.

We have stayed at Hard Rock and Royal Pacific several times. Our favorite was Royal Pacific. The rates can vary alot with each hotel depending on what discounts you can get. You can get discounts with AAA and the entertainment rate people talk about. If you plan on going more than once in a year I have always got a lower rate by having an annual pass. As far as the best as someone posted above it depends on your prefrence but all three are good and the front of the line access to the rides can not be beat.
