Which old Disney attraction do you wish they would bring back?

Tapestry of Nations/Dreams parade - Epcot
Hunchback stage show - MGM
Alien Encounter - MK
20,000 Leagues - MK
Skyway - MK

Since I have never been and my DH doesn't read these boards, he thinks I am nuts. I will put his response, he was there 14 years ago and was really upset to hear that 20,000 Leagues was gone. I was actually afraid he didn't want to go anymore!!!

5. The original Main Street USA. The decision to turn this into one giant merchandising location was simply wrong. I miss the old time Arcade, the Magic Shop, the Shadow Box silhouette shop. Why did we need more stores with the same tired plushes and clothing that you can find all over WDW?

I agree! When I was a kid, I loved the magic shop and all of the other shops.

There was also a place along Main Street where there were benches and flower carts located kind of off to the side of the street. Does anyone remember those? It was a nice place to sit and take a picture.

I would like to see the SkyRide come back, that was really enjoyable and relaxing looking down on the park.

The only one I remember is 20,000 leagues and really liked it. Now don't flame me since this is not a WDW attraction it's a Universal one, but I really LOVED Kongfrontation. Best ride ever!!!!! Can someone tell me when they got rid of Kong? My hubby and I have been in a debate about this forever!!!
We both went on it during our honeymoon and then went back in 2001 and I remember bringing my sons on it. He says that they got rid of it before then. Who's right? :confused3

Delta Dream Flight (I used to LOVE that ride as a child) and Horizons (I missed it by a few days with my first trip to WDW).

Good thread! :thumbsup2

That was the first thing I thought of, too. I got stuck on that ride once-it stopped for about 15 minutes. The CM came running over and yelled up not to worry, they were working on it (I guess he thought I'd panic, because I was alone). Instead I said "Take your time!", just put my feet up, and enjoyed the view sitting up there.

Horizons, World of Motion, Dream Flight, Super Star Television and the Original Enchanted Tiki Room. Iago is OBNOXIOUS.

Oh Skyway!
I really enjoyed that attraction...We have great pics that were taken in this ride..I miss it! :sad2:

i'm with you. universal could have done away with twister instead. you are right we were there in 2001 and kk was still there. it is now the mummy. as for disney, the only one i can comment on is alien encounter. i thought it was a cool ride. i have not been on stitch yet. will know in 31 day whoo hoo!!!!!!!

I think my favorite all time ride was Dream Flight so I really wish they would bring that back. In addition would be: World of Motion, Horizons (which ending would you pick?), and the original JII.

So far, no one has mentioned Caption EO! :rotfl2:

Really, I'd like them to bring back the original Tiki Room. I'd also like to see the Tapestry of Nations Parade, too.

I had forgotten all about Captian EO!. That was a cool attraction for it's time. And I agree about the Tiki Room. Iago is so obnoxious in the new version, I just want to tape his mouth shut.

I really miss Mr. Toad's wild Ride too.

Mr. Toad and Tapestry of Nations parade. I also wish the Tarzan show at AK was still there. We're going in Sept. and my daughter would've loved it.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, they should have themed this to go with a Little Mermaid ride. They could have added mermaids, Flounder, Sebastian, sharks and instead of the squid at the bottom that drags you down they could have added Ursula.

I also miss the original Tiki Room.

ETA: I found this site that has info on the old rides

I am lamenting the loss of Cranium Command. We were so looking forward to it! Does anyone know if the closing is pernament?

I also miss The Timekeeper, and the monster sound show at MGM (is that what it's called?). The hardest I've ever laughed in my life was when DH got picked for the show.

[big sidetrack ahead]
For those of you that don't know what it was, you were shown a cheesy monster movie showing Chevy Chase and Martin Short. They then picked people from the audience to come up and do the sound for the movie using typical sound effect stuff. They played the movie again, this time without sound, and the guests filled in the sound effects with cues from the director. Then they played back the movie with the new sound effects--and hilarity ensued. :rotfl:

DH had a big bank of buttons for sound--it was the hardest job there. At one point in the movie, something large falls or explodes (I can't remember), so the director points at DH and whispers "boom". DH is supposed to push the big "boom" button at this point, but INSTEAD shouts BOOM into the microphone. The whole audiences was rolling in the floors.
[end sidetrack]

Superstar TV was pretty cool, too. DH and I both got picked for that one, but on seperate trips.

I can hardly remember it, as I was very young the first and only time I experienced it, but I would love to see Horizons return.
Yes, I only got to ride Horizons once, but I loved it. I would love to see Horizons return too!
