Hi,

I am wondering at which of our TS choices sharing is easiest/ not frowned upon? We will all be on Plan - either DDP or DxDP. There will be 1 adult, 2 kids 10 and 12 who are 'Adults' and one 3 yr old kid.

My kids do need to eat often but they don't eat very much at one time. Ordering 3 adult meals and 1 child's each time is just WAY too much. Plus, I'd rather get my calories from snacks. But, I don't want to appear cheap, KWIM? Last year we shared some CS but never TS.

We're thinking of eating at (not including TS where obviously we won't share:)

Teppan Edo
Tutto Italia
Prime Time Cafe
Sci Fi
Grand Floridian Cafe
The Plaza
"France"
Whispering Canyon
Via Napoli

or please suggest others. We'll be at CR.

We are big time foodies but for reason I will not get into we are not big eaters. Kids also like to eat frequently. We did deluxe with 3 TS meals everyday. Espcially at lunch we shared to make the most of our credits and experience all the places we wanted.

Every place gave us extra soft drinks for free.

We did this at
Sci Fi- plenty to share
AK Chinese TS?- plenty
LTT-plenty but bad service not sharing related
LeCellier- kids did not like mac and cheese
Chefs de France- big hit

It was really easy on the deluxe plan because of the appetizers to help fill everyone up. Waiters never seemed annoyed and brought extra plates or split in kitchen.

Definately Prime Time. I think the chicken dinner gave you 4 or 5 pieces of chicken. Plus you could get a milkshake or smoothie as a drink and the desserts were huge.

Les Chef Des France - you can pick the appetizer, meal dessert combo for your 1 TS credit. That would definately be enough for 2 kids to share.

Sci Fi Sandwiches and fries, big enough to share.

Tutto Italia - not sure, we had the CP package there, so got the appetizer. I remember not being too impressed with it though. Probably because I was thinking "This is worth 2 TS credits?????"

What's the CP package? We LOVED Tutto- It was such a pleasant surprise since we had never tried it before.

Thanks to both of you for your comments. Nice to know the wait staff at the places you mentioned does not get grouchy with sharing.

We've shared meals at many TS restaurants, even on the DDP and unless it's a buffet, I don't really think they make a big deal about it.

All of the TS on your list would be good for sharing, they are all pretty large portions except I wouldn't necessarily share at The Plaza. The portions there are more "real world" as we would say, and we didn't share meals here and were glad that each person in my family had their own meal. We even ordered ice cream, and we rarely do dessert.

Enjoy!

Good to know!

At WCC, if you order the skillet then you can not share; you'll be charged for each person.

The fried chicken at 50s PTC is basically a half chicken. Definitely splittable.

Have you considered just how much time you're spending in restaurants with the DxDDP? Stretching your credits even further by splitting meals will mean that much MORE time in restaurants. If you end up with the basic DDP then absolutely go for it but with the DxDDP that's a lot of credits to use up. Since you're at CR, if you go for the DxDDP then I'd suggest some room service.

Good thread. I'm wondering about the QS meals. We are on the DDP and I'm considering letting my kids split their QS lunches pretty much every day. My 4 year old is a picky eater (and doesn't eat much when he does), but my 6 year old daughter is a pretty hearty eater (and eats lots of different things). If I see she's eating all of her own meal, I will probably just pay OOP for a side of mac and cheese, etc. for my son and save the credit.

Again, it depends on the QS meals you choose, but many are definitely big enough portions to share. You might want to think about letting your DD share your meal in addition to sharing their CS meal instead of buying extra oop. If you are still hungry, there are always snacks and another meal! We shared a lot of meals but still ended up with extras at the end of the trip, so monitor that and use them if you see them collecting. Better to pay oop at the end of the trip rather than pay as you go for extras and then end up with unused credits.

That is exactly how we use the DxDDP we are 4 A a 5 year old and a 2 yr old, we share all meals everywhere except signatures...if we do order childs meal we sometimes will pay oop....and all those extra credits we use for room service...we like breakfast early 6 am-ish...and we only order for 2 or 3 and it's plenty for all....and sometimes late night RS after late swim...priceless we stay at BLT and the Wave will let you order thru the bar and pack it to go...out to the pool for lunch for example...appy entree and dessert...we never have any trouble using all the credits...we never are overly stuffed...we eat signatures most every night...(location helps with this) and most of our snacks...love DxDDP
