Hi..

This will be our first time visit to WDW (frequent DL visitors), and also will be our honeymoon... we are going in october, so I am scrambling to make reservations right away.

We are looking at the moderate hotel range, due to price of course....

Please vote for your fave or least fave resort between
CBR
CSR
PO-french
PO-riverside

Its a honeymoon so I want it to be romatic of course, but we are big Disney fans, so we will be hitting the parks most of the time too....

Also I am concerned about transportation, I believe only buses are available for the moderates.. I would love to be at a monorail hotel, but I am under the impression they are only available at select deluxe resorts.....

Any advice/help./info... etc would be GREATLY appreciated...

Coronado Springs is a big convention resort, so it almost seems more adult than some of the others. It's very nice and the restaurant is pretty good. The quiet pools are nice as is the Dig Site.

But if you could do a deluxe resort with some sort of discount, that would be great. Try Mousesavers to see if there is anything you could qualify for.

I agree that Coronado Springs would be the most adult like resort. It's also a favorite for me. The French Quarter will not be opened during the time you are going so that is out of the question. I think POR and CBR are very kid friendly resorts and since you are gonna be on your honeymoon, I would go with CSR. I would keep checking at mousesavers and see if you could get a good deal on a deluxe. The WL would be a great romantic getaway!! Hope this helps and congrats!!!!!!:)

First of all.....Congratulations!

Another vote for CSR!

Best wishes! ;)

CBR is my favorite moderate, I've only stayed at CBR (3 times) and POFQ (once). CBR has been recently refurbished, the rooms are larger than the other moderates, nicer vanity area than the other moderates, atmosphere is very laid back, beach is romantic in the evening.

I would say though that AKL and WL are awesome hotels, though not monorail they have GREAT themeing and have rooms in lower price ranges than the other deluxes. Keep checking here and mousesavers.com for info on discounts.

Whatever you decide - have a beautiful honeymoon :)

Lest POR be left out...I'm in the same boat as you! I'm going for my honeymoon in a little over a week! After A LOT of planning I picked POR. In all honesty you should go to www.wdwig.com and look at pictures and read what each resort is like and then pick the best one for the two of you. You'll find supporters for every moderate here.

BTW I think PO FQ will still be closed then so that eleminates that one!

We have stayed at CSR and POR. I think POR is more romantic, plus you can get the buggy rides there and the river boat to Downtown Disney in the evenings Nothing like gliding down the river at sundown on your way to dinner! Enjoy your trip!

I want to place a vote for the french quarter. We stayed there on our honeymoon-asked for and received a river view room on the 'back side' of the resort-it was awesome.

We have stayed at both CBR and CSR and loved both! CSR would be my choice. We loved CBr's tropical feel, but since we are doing half of our honeymoon next May in the Carribean, the other half will be at CSR. After staying at CSR last June, we fell in love with it. It gives you the joy of staying in WDW and feeling like little kids, but the adult, romantic atmosphere you want on our honeymoon at the resort. We took long walks around lake, late night swims, and had an amazing time. PO (neither section) interests us, I just don't feel that vacation feeling when I see it, so we just never looked in to staying there. Both CSR and CBR would be great for your honeymoon! We celebrated our birthdays at CBR in 2000, and our engagement at CSR in 2002. We are staying at CSR for our honeymoon next year! Good luck!

Welcome to DIS, kcchica!

And congratulations; I've been happily married for 18 years (and married for over 23 :p Ow, ow ow!)

I'd first suggest PO-FQ, but it's closed - no help there.

CSR - quieter, more grown-up, fewer (but not no) children

CBR - more immersive theming, a little more romantic, more kids.

Are you sure you can't swing the Polynesian? Monorail, tiki torch-lit paths, nights on the beach. That's where we'll be in 8 weeks.

Again, best of luck in life, and remember - to have to choose between Disney moderates means life is good!

I would suggest CBR. The tropical theming, the beaches. You can watch the Epcot fireworks from your hammock on the beach at night.

All of the moderates are great. You will have a wonderful time no matter where you stay.

We stayed at CB on our Honeymoon, 10 years ago. We looked at staying at WL but did not want to spend the $$$.

Since then we have stayed at WL (it is the least expensive of the deluxes). I'd try to go to WL - it is sooooooooo nice.

Also Port Orleans is nice too.

Congratulations
:D

We spent the first 2 nights at the GF on our honeymoon and then moved over to Dixie landings (now POR-R) for the next week and it was absolutely wonderful!! Such a pretty resort and romantic and now they even have the horse and carriage rides through the resort!

No matter which Disney resort you choose, you just can't go wrong, but my vote would be for POR-R;)

Congrats and remember to mention when you make your ressie that you will be on your honeymoon! They sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne!

Have a great time!:D

My vote would be PO-R, but all are similar other than themeing. I'd say pick the theme that appeals to you the most. I know CBR rooms are slightly larger, but I couldn't really tell the difference. CSR is the newest, but we didn't care for the theme at all when we visited it (although I heard it was better at night). We may have just picked a bad time, but there were several conventioners there talking business when we walked in. POR has the buggy rides and boat as others have mentioned, but you also seem to run more of a risk of getting a room in need of a refurb than you would at either CBR or CSR. If you do pick POR, I would suggest the Mansions section - it only sleeps 4, so there are less families of five. The quiet pools in the Mansions always seem to be less crowded to me, and we've stayed both more than once. Partierre Place might be a good choice for seclusion.
