I was planning to book the HDDR for our arrival night for our trip in November but my DH thinks it should be another night. We will have 9 nights this trip, probably 6 park days, 2 "off" days, and our arrival day. I don't want to do a park day as the kids will be extra tired. That leaves our 2 off days, however I like to play those by ear, I don't want to be tied into being at a certain place at a certain time. My DH feels arrival day should be a "no plan" type of day and one of our off days would be perfect.

Anyone care to voice their opinion?

We are also planning the HDDR for our first night. However, we are actually arriving on Sat (after a 2 day drive) and staying off site that night. Our "first" night at WDW is Sun. and that is when we have the HDDR booked. If you are arriving early, than I would do it on the first night. What time did you book for, and do you have kids? I found that it was a late night for our kids by the time we got back to the room after the 7 pm show so they weren't much fun to get up and moving the next day. I do think it's a good ides to do it on one of the off days though. We had to leave MK too early to go back to the room and get everyone washed up and ready to leave for dinner since you have to get there so early with all the bus transportation and all. Hope this helps...

My kids will be 7 & 9 by the time of our trip. This will be their first time to the HDDR! We are planning on the 7pm show also. We are staying at the WL so I figure we should be "home" at a reasonable hour (for vacation). The trade off is leave a park early to be ready or go on an off night when the next morning will be a park day.

I try (as hard as it is) to let my kids sleep as late as they need to, luckily, late for my kids is still fairly early. Vacations aren't fun with cranky kids! I'd rather see less and have fun than commando the parks and want to kill my darling children (or husband)!

Hi, The last time we went To Hoop-Dee-Doo, we did so on the day we spent in the MK and took a nice boat ride from there to FW. That eliminated a transportation problem and we had time to relax before the show. We think the show itself is so much fun and relaxing, that what you have done during the day will not have much of an effect on your enjoyment of it. What ever you decide, have a great time at a great show. Bob

We're doing it the night we arrive. We actually get in about 11:30 am and didn't want to do a park since we'll be up from very early.

Booked us for the 5pm show. Figured that would be good for the kids, then head back to the Poly and watch the fireworks.

We're booked for the HDD on an off/pool day. We're going to the 5 PM show and this works best for us. We won't have the stress of leaving a park to get to Ft. Wilderness on time and we should be able to get back to the hotel fairly early.
