I am thinking of doing a "Mommy and Me" trip with my DD in January. I think the easiest place to stay would be one of the monorail resorts. I know pricey, but I am a little intimidated about being it just her and I . We will be in in the MK the most I'm sure. I've been multiple times to Disney, but DH and 2 DS's aren't as interrested in going this year. So I'm comfortable once in the parks...anyway, I'd like opinions on where you think it would be easiest for a mom and 3yo princess to stay. Thanks in advance!

I think either any of the 3 would be great. Just depends on what you would like. Cont. is cool and my kids loved it. Poly has that tropical feel and GF is old world class feel. Can't go wrong with any of them!!

Do you know if one of them is any easier transportation to MGM or AK? Maybe Poly because we can walk to Transportation and Ticket Center? (At least I think I've read that you can do that:) )

Do any of these offer better price deals??

I do know that price wise it goes from least to most: Cont, Poly then most cost is GF.
Either way you would need to take a bus to MGM and AK, so I don't think really there is a big difference of time with buses that way. If you stay at Cont. you can walk to Magic Kingdom but not from the other 2.

Hope that helps some even though I couldn't answer all questions.

With the Contemporary you can walk to and from the Magic Kingdom in about 10 minutes, plus it's the next stop on the Resort Monorail when leaving the Magic Kingdom. So with a 3 year old I would consider that to be a huge plus. As for the TTC that is the next stop after the Resort Monorail leaves from the Contemporary.

My DD 5 and I are going to GF the week before Christmas. It is pricey though, so if that is a factor then the CR is your best bet. I have been on several "Mommy and Me" trips to WDW and Disneyland and we always have a great time. We started when DD was 2 1/2 years old, and there is no end in sight!
I hope you have a great time with your little princess princess:
BTW I love your siggy with the "turkey before frosty ho" - hilarious :lmao:

I know WL shares a bus with GF for some destinations and I believe MGM is one of them, I know DTD is. I would say CR, the walk to the MK is really nice and much quicker than the monorail, since you have to go all the way around to get to MK on the monorail.

Suzanne princess:

My most recent experience with the Disney buses to MGM or AK from the Contemporary, in the morning it would stop at the Wilderness Lodge and then it was off to the parks. However in the afternoon the route was the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian.

Since we have our own car we always take it when going to Downtown Disney, so we would not know which Resorts share bus service when going there.

When our kids were that age, we loved the Poly! Also, if you can swing the concierge building, there is free breakfast daily, and free appetizers in the evening, which are really enough for dinner. Not to mention the late night deserts.

I'm not sure how it works out with two people, but with 4 or 5, it was actually cheaper to stay in the concierge than to eat in Disney restaurants.

No matter where we stay at the parks, we always start with Dinner at Chef Mickey's at CR and end with the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at Ohana.

Being able to just walk a cranky 3 yr old directly to the hotel after a long day at Magic Kingdom, instead of waiting in line for a monorail or bus, makes the Contemporary the best choice in my opinion.

Here is a vote for the Poly. I love the themeing, the rooms are large, the grounds are beautiful and the Monorail is right there. And yes, you can walk to the TTC to catch the Monorail to Epcot.
I think you will haVe a wonderful "Mommy and Me" trip

MY DD4 loved CR. I have many pictures of her and the castle from our balcony. But I think she would have liked Poly too!

Poly, you have three ways to MK, monorail, boat or walk over to T&T and take the ferry or express monorail. The main pool is a zero entry pool. The beach you can watch the lagoon parade and fireworks. I'm not sure on which theme parks share which bus. I know some AK and DTD are different from each other I believe. The poly is a nice place to relax and kick back at the end of the day and who can forget Tonga Toast.

Price-wise, I think the best price will be the wing at the CR (not tower room where you can view MK). Then I'm not sure of the order, but I think Poly garden view next, and then not sure which is the most expensive between GF standard or CR tower.

I keep trying to put myself in your shoes as to where I'd feel the most content with just me and a young child. I've never stayed at GF, but we've stayed at both Poly and CR a couple times each. CR is very convenient because of the walkway to MK -- it's about a 10 minute walk each way. And we really like Chef Mickeys character meals in CR.

What we like about Poly is the feel of the resort. It has a relaxing and tropical feel. The restaurants are awesome. In your shoes, I'd recommend a room in a building close to the main building. Keep in mind the various buildings are somewhat spread out and you'll want to research that to make the right building request for your situation.

Another option, non-monorail, is WL. Maybe you've already stayed there in the past, but it's one building so you wouldn't be walking around outside in the dark. And you can take a boat to MK, not the quickest route but it may be easier for you with a 3 year old and stroller. Oh, and the cost is quite a bit less than a monorail resort.
