Which monorail resort has the best pool?

I'm trying to figure out which resort to stay at. I've already decided that we must be on the monorail since our children are little and we will want quick transportation to/from MK for naps and such. Of the resorts located on the monorail path, which one has the nicest pool for little kids? Thanks!

Theme wise I would say it's the Polynesian, plus it's also a zero entry pool. However I think the Contemporary pool is also very nice and it has a great slide, plus they have a nice kids splash play area.

Polynesian,hands down.:)

It also has a great beach for the little ones to play on.:)

The Contemporary Resort has an interactive water fountain playground right next to the main pool. There were several little kids having a blast when we were there. The ground around the fountains looked like concrete, but it was soft and springy in case of falls.

Absolutely NOT the Poly! LOL. Different preferences, eh?

It's noisy, crowded and has no hot tub.

The GF has a lovely pool, as does the Contemporary.

Wilderness Lodge has a great pool too but it's not a monorail resort.

CR and Poly have the nicest pools in terms of designs. However, GF has the quietest pool. The pools at CR and Poly can get quite crowded.

Another vote here for the Contemporary. As much as I love the Poly, I think if you have small kids, they will find the Contemporary magical.

Also, I think your kids will be happy with whatever pool they find themselves in.

bay lake towers at the cr - has a zero entry pool.

it is cute - so your kids might like it.

Grand Floridian. Its two pools are quieter and less crowded than Poly, and more interesting than CR's pools.

GF's theme pool is zero entry, located right by the beach. It has plenty of kids activities during the day, and a fun slide/waterfall that comes from the rocky area.

GF's quiet pool is very large and it has hot tubs (Poly doesn't have any). It's tranquil and usually not very crowded.

To be fair, Poly's volcano pool looks really cool. However, the pool is small and usually super crowded. Plus, the slide is enclosed and dark, which some kids don't like.

Poly has a great pool but it can get crowded. It's pretty magical though to be able to see the castle while you're swimming!

GF has two very nice pools - one with zero entry and a "rock" slide.

We've only stayed at GF and Poly, but have walked by the CR's pool many times. Love the water play area for kids! Overall, our hearts are with the Poly but my kids loved the pools at the GF better and I loved the hot tub, so I'd have to go with the GF! I so agree with the other posters that say the Poly's pool gets loud and crowded. It always feels cold to me too, even in the summer!

In all my stays at the Contemporary I have never seen their pool get crowded, although I guess you had a different experience.
I haven't, either...

Even when the resort is booked solid, for some reason the Contemporary pool always seems almost empty. Beats me. :confused3

When I was little I liked The Poly pool better, though. But, the crowding can be a problem.

We thought the Poly pool was beautiful, zero entry right on the beach. It had a kiddie play area next to pool too, and has a quiet pool as well. Watching the Castle while in the pool is really cool. Love the slide too.
We haven't stayed at GF or CR, but have been there for dinners, and a walk around to check it out. I find the CR pool, like the resort not very themed, and doesn't do much for me. GF pool looked nice. You didn't mention what time of year you are going, but if it's in the cold months, as mentioned Poly doesn't have a hot tub. Can't understand why they don't put one in? :confused3

Even though I LOVE the Poly...I'm going to have to say the GF has the nicest pool. The GF pool has never looked crowded at anytime we've been there to eat and explore. Also both pools are huge and nicely landscaped. But there's not much seating around it.

Poly pool does get crowded and loud and doesn't have a hot tub nearby. There lots of chairs around it.

The Contemporary doesn't have much landscaping. It reminds me of going to the city pool.

Poly has the coolest looking, though it's not big enough.
Grand Floridian has the nicest.
Contemporary, like the hotel itself, lacks any interesting theme.

Thanks for your input.

We're thinking of an early October vacation, but I'm not totally sure. Hope it's warm enough to swim. I've read about free dining in Sept? Maybe that would be a better deal.

One thing about the Polynesian that makes me hesitant, is the whole theme. We've (DH & I) been to Hawaii before and will probably take the kids there the year following this trip. So I don't know if I want to stay somewhere decorated to look Hawaiian, KWIM?

I'll look into the Contemporary some more. I'm sure GF is nice, but it is pricey plus I'm not sure the kids would appreciate it.

Of the two we've stayed at (the CR and the Poly), our favorite (and the kids favorite) was definitely the Poly pool. Can't comment on the GF pool as we've never stayed there and have only visited the resort once when it opened and only walked through the lobby and then left (DH refuses to go back--too "fancy" for our family).

The GF and the Wilderness Lodge (though it's not on the monorail, the boat ride from MK is fun and quick).

GF has both a little pop jet area, a zero entry pool AND a baby pool. and you can rent cabana's at the pool if you want to have a place to make your kids come in from the sun for a break.

DS had a lot of fun at the baby pool at the WL when he was one.

Poly has the volcano pool which is the coolist. It also has a quite pool and no one is ever in that pool (or at least when we were there last year except for a couple ducks) The Gf pool is larger and not as crowded when we were there. They both are nice to be in and watch the lagoon, but Poly wins for us because watching the fireworks from the pool is so much better. From the pool you look straight on at the castle as the fireworks light it up.
