Which moderates don't have carpet in the rooms

The thread about getting rid of carpet reminded me that I prefer no carpet, as I have 2 preschool age children and I feel the hard floors are cleaner. We have stayed in a renovated All Star Movies room, Pop Century and Coronado Springs. I would love to try another moderate resort. Which ones aside from CS have no carpet? Deluxe hotels are out of the budget.

With what is open now, CSR or Fort Wilderness. CBR still has carpet. But when POR and POFQ open again, they're two options with laminate flooring.
I'm planning Ft. Wilderness for 2021, and had been planning on Caribbean Beach for 2022, but maybe now I will hope for Port Orleans. Thanks for the info.

FWIW, we stayed at CSR in October 2019 and not once was the floor swept during our stay. I have long hair, and there were tumbleweeds of my hair around the room by day 3 mixed with crumbs from the food we ate in the room. The hair collected more on our socks from the hard floors than it ever does on carpet. We also had issues with hearing every footstep from the room above us, particularly one night when it sounded like the woman was walking in high heels. I would suggest requesting top floor.

This is just my personal opinion but the points you make are exactly why I hate laminated floors and would prefer the carpet. They always vacuumed the floors every day which picked up the day to day dust, hair etc, but to me it seems like even if they do sweep the floors not everything gets swept up and dust can actually be just pushed up into the air whereas a vacuum cleaner will suck it up and not disturb it into the air. Also there is no doubt that the laminated floors are much noisier than carpet. I never had a problem with the carpet appearing dirty, stained or worn in any of the rooms I stayed at and never had a problem with overhead noise but there is nothing worse than scraping chairs or tapping of shoes above you. I also hate that now all the rooms at every resort look the same, same white linens and very little themeing. That to me was what made me always want to stay in the Disney Bubble. If I wanted white, white and more white and plain boring decor I might as well stay anywhere at any hotel. Rant over. 😆

I definitely agree with you on the carpet vs. hard floors. I guess I can see where it would be more "sanitary" in the current environment where they are doing deep cleans between guests - I would assume the hard floors are mopped but they aren't going to shampoo carpets. But for day to day, its not anymore sanitary and its noisier as well.

I know it seems a little crazy and ocd but I bought an adjustable broom and dustpan from amazon to bring on future trips. We spent a week at AoA in a cars suite last February and even with housekeeping coming in daily the floors looked and felt dirty by the evening. I like the look of the hard floors but it does feel like it takes a little more maintenance.

I usually bring a roll of paper towels and create a “Swiffer” for my feet to try to clean the bathroom quickly walking around the wall/floor area and corners . And next the kitchen area (basic refrigerator area in studio) and around the room... If I don’t have paper towels I have asked for extra wash clothes from housekeeping or gone into the lobby restroom to grab a bunch of bigger paper hand towels. I also pack plastic bags to put shoes in before I place in suitcase. Can’t imagine packing a broom unless I had a car. I admit I have wished for my vacuum cleaner often! But my family already thinks I am crazy! I
I can not bring QS food into my room because it makes room smell...and I pack a small fan in suitcase always. So yes I am crazy.
I also take my dirty towels to drop in the pool wet towels bin and grab clean towels for my room. These unprecedented times have created unprecedented reactions . I bet we are all crazy by now.

Social Media needs to plan a commemorative way to celebrate One Year of lockdown . Stand in front of the castle and salute to the word Unprecedented perhaps?

Yeah I am mainly worried about between guests. My kids are the age that they get on the floor with their toys, so I like if it can be cleaned better before we check in and it is easier to see if I need to spot clean anywhere housekeeping missed. I am not as worried if we have to do a little extra cleaning up after ourselves.

I'm in commercial construction, there is a reason we use hard flooring vs. carpet in heavy traffic areas, it's because it's far more sanitary and easy to clean. There are some areas where we are not allowed to put down carpet, because of health department restrictions.
A quick vacuum and then a steam mop will get the room ready to go in less than an 30 minutes, were a carpet shampoo would at least 2 days. One day for the cleaning and then one day waiting for it to dry. A vacuum simply can't clean all the greasy residue that accumulates in the carpet over the years. Anyone who has ever cleaned their carpet at home should know how filthy that stuff actually is, even if it look clean on the surface.
We've stayed at CRS GDT 3 times and AKL 1 time since they changed the flooring and we have never had any issues. (All 10+ day trips) My wife has long hair and she absolutely sheds all over at the house. Haha
Regardless, if house keeping doesn't do their job properly both hard flooring and carpet will be nasty. I've found a quick friendly call to housekeeping at WDW will solve all your issues! ha

The problem at WDW is that housekeeping does not mop/clean the floors during your stay. In the current environment, they are not doing full housekeeping services so I'm not sure it would even be an option to have that unless someone were to make a stink about it. In order to maintain cleanliness, a person should avoid wearing shoes in the room.

Or, you didn’t notice hair or crumbs in the carpet because carpets tend to hide those kinds of things much better.

on a side note, we have stayed at the Pop twice since the hard floors were put in and both times our floors were swept daily.

That means they aren't vacuuming either... Ha Trust me I know the current situation, we stayed at Universal in Oct. and they didn't clean our room the entire stay. With a hard floor it's as easy as taking a damp towel and wiping the floor (that would take less than 5 minutes in a room that size), good luck cleaning the carpet! Ha
In my profession, my job on the jobsite is to adapt and find solutions for issues that arise, this one is a simple solution.

We have had them vacuum our room during our stay in the past, which makes sense because it’s much easier for housekeeping to do that than to mop a hard floor during their daily cleans.

Even if the hard floor isn’t swept and the carpet isn’t vacuumed, I’ve just found that the debris on the hard floor collects on my socks much easier (i.e. my tumbleweeds of hair). And regardless of cleanliness, no one can deny the significant difference in upstairs neighbor noise.
