I voted POR because we're staying there for the very first time this trip! I hear it's lovely! :goodvibes

For the first week in December, I would not choose POR or POFQ.

Infamously, POR has been the main moderate with Pop Warner, with the POFQ taking the overflow.

You can take a chance that there won't be overflow into POFQ and book that, or stay at CBR.

Since you have taken CSR out of the running, I would still think of that as a back-up.

I had to switch it up and spend my week in 2006 the first week in December (instead of the week after T-giving) to accommodate the friends I had invited. Even though I had booked my room a year in advance, when I got to POR, I was told I had already been moved to CSR. No other choice on property - it was CSR or nothing.

Food for thought.

Your last option is to go deluxe; if they stay at a deluxe, it is because they are paying extra and you won't notice them as much.

The kids won't bother me, but do they really book up all those rooms? I was under the impression they stayed at the all stars or pop? I would love to do deluxe again this trip (have been fortunate the last 2 trips) but I'm not sure we want to spend the extra money this time.

They only pre-book a value and a mod; you will only see them in deluxes if the parents chose to pay the upcharge.

The last few years, the mod has been POR, with POFQ as the overflow. Like I said, I was told I had been transferred to CSR.

I stood my ground and stayed, but by Tuesday I had had enough. We went back up to the desk and took them up on their offer. Too late, other people who had been offered to get away from the shannigans already took up their offer the first day and CSR was full.

It was the most miserable week of my life; I vowed never to go back that week again, no matter than obligations any friends had over the holidays.

The worst is the parents (they act like drunken sailors on leave), followed by the cheerleaders. The boys are actually very well behaved.

Since it is just the two of you, without any kids, I would recommend POFQ. POFQ is so quaint and pretty...it really is a romantic resort, for a moderate level. My other suggestion would be POR and stay in the mansions. Both POR and POFQ are our 2 favorite moderates. Have a great trip.

Like others, my first choice would be Coronado Springs. Very romantic and a beautiful resort!

Of your choices, I picked POFQ. Nice pool, small geographically, & a nice boat ride to Downtown Disney.

We've stayed at all the mods except POR.

I was just going to say the same thing. I even changed my dates from late November into the first week in December to mid-November just to avoid any unpleasantness at POFQ with Pop Warner.

I picked POFQ since it's the most romantic of the three resorts.

I just looked up the actual dates online and they will only be overlapping one day with us. Pop warner week starts the 4th and we were thinking the 2-5th. So hopefully the one shared night wouldnt be bad?

Are the kids really that wild?

I voted POFQ. We just stayed at Riverside in April and we did enjoy it very much. However, if we could do it again, we would have book FQ. We walked around the FQ and it was smaller, and quieter. For most of the parks Riverside and FQ share a bus, FQ is the first stop. They don't share a bus for MK and the line was always shorter for FQ.
Either way, do not eat at Boatwrights to celebrate your anniversary. The service was OK but the food was not anything special. The wonderful people of Louisana should be offended that they are passing this off as Louisana cusine.
Hope you enjoy your trip!!!!
Congratulations on your anniversary!!!

What worried me was that I read here a few times that they begin arriving on the 2nd even though the official date is the 4th. Also, and this isn't first hand knowledge because I've never stayed during that time, the buses and food court are super crowded, that they and their chaperones can become quite obnoxious and loud especially late at night with antics such as banging on room doors. I just didn't want to take the chance of our vacation being ruined and it was no problem for me to change our dates, so I did.

We loved our stay in POR Riverside in the mansion section. Our building was Magnolia Terrace. Very central location, close to bus stop, right by bridge that goes over to Old Man Isl, and path to Food Court, etc. Loved Bob Jacksons show, fun for everyone. We were also next to quiet pool. Great boat to DTD, and Carriage rides, may be fun for Anniv. celebration!

That's awful. My own experience was not nearly that frustrating.

During Pop Warner '08, we stayed at POFQ. The designated resorts for Pop Warner were Pop and POFQ. (We actually moved from POP to POFQ the day before the kids arrived.) We didn't notice any significant differences in noise. Although, we were there only for the first half of the competition.

I recommend POFQ as it is the only one on the list that isn't a sprawling resort. IMO, if a resort has multiple bus stops, it means two things:
* you're likely going to find yourself walking a lot more
* When you go to catch your bus to the parks, it may arrive half-full of guests and your party may have to split up to find seats.

I didn't miss not having quiet pools or a table service restaurant at the resort, especially since guests could walk to POR or take the boat to DTD.

POFQ is my favorite mod. Love the quaintness.

I stay at POR the week after Thanksgiving every year.

They do begin to trickle in late on Thursday and arrive in full swing on Saturday.

Every year, I book Guest Services to come pick me up at my room around 8:00 am to go over to the RAC desk.

We are continually flagged down by Pop Warner people arriving, and asking to be taken all over the resort. Someone even stopped the guy to have them taken back to their room. They think it is a personal shuttle for the Pop people.

You will actually see them trickle in late Thursday into Friday; they are full tilt by Saturday morning.

Actually, the parents are the worst, closely followed by the cheerleaders. The boys are actually fairly well behaved.

Depends on how quiet you like your resort. We stayed at POFQ last year for 6 days and found it to be quiet - a bit too quiet for our tastes, but this isn't about us :goodvibes - When we wandered over to POR, we found the energy to be a lot higher, so that appealed to us. There's a lively bar at both with live entertainment on some nights, altho, again, we preferred the energy at POR. Also, not sure if this is important, but the gift shop at POR is better (we're big gift shop people ) Not 100 percent sure about the bus service - when we left the resort, it was always first thing in the morning, so we always headed directly to the parks. One exception was in the early evening, and our bus started at POFQ and then headed over to POR and then to the parks. One last point - the boat service to Downtown Disney is a very nice option, and one that I believe is not available at CBR. Hope this helps you decide. Wherever you lay your head, you'll be in Disney! Have a wonderful time!
