My wife and I are bringing our daughter to WDW for free dining this year. She is 4-1/2 years old and this will be her second trip. Last year we also went for free dining and stayed at POP.

We are booked this year to stay at All Star Sports however we are now discussing upgrading to a moderate resort. My wife and I have both stayed at the CBR and at POR during previous visits but have never stayed at CSR. At the time we are planning on being there, the refurbishments to the CBR pool are supposed to be complete (we are arriving on 9/20).

I personally would like to stay at CSR because I’ve never stayed there before and because the pool looks great. I have also heard that since it’s a convention resort, the pool is generally not all that crowded during the day. However I am a little torn because the pools at the other two moderates are also pretty cool and (last I remember) the CBR has little boats that can be rented while POR has a boat that will take you to DTD.

Does anyone have any suggestions based upon their experiences?

I am a CBR fan....and have been for years!! Really don't care for the CSR - just my personal preference.....

We LOVE the CSR (we are staying for the seventh time in September for our anniversary). Our kids, when they traveled with us (they are now 22 and 20 and in college), loved the pool at CSR and preferred it over the deluxe resort pools. There is also a great playground right next to the pool as well as a kiddie pool (check out Buzz's website for some great pictures). We have visited the other moderates but never stayed. The themeing at Car (and it's food court) and Por do not appeal to us at all. We do like POFQ, but we just can't leave CSR.

Based on my experience at CSR it was horrible it was the worst resort I've ever stayed at, the food court was bad the food wasnt good and the price and tip was just ridiculous for such bad service and it was too large, but it did have decent bus service. Of all the moderates I reccomend POFQ b/c it is the smallest resort, it has the best food, it drops off before POR, and it is quiet, relaxing, and the boat to DTD. My vote for POFQ :thumbsup2 Good luck with your decision.

We weren't big fans of CSR either. When we went to the pool in the afternoon for a break there wasn't a chair to be found. The conventioneers had taken over the area. They also took over the bars and public areas at night. So it can be hit or miss there.

CBR is our favorite mod at this point. Haven't stayed at POR/POFQ though. DH isn't interested in the theme.

If you want to stay at CSR, it can't hurt to try it out. Hopefully you wont' have the issues that we did.

CSR has a great poool, terrific non-shared transportation and awesome food choices. The pools and buses are generally less crowded because of the convention aspect. Check out my CSR website for pics and info.

CSR is a great choice. We enjoy the main pool and really like the options at the Pepper Market. The atmosphere at the resort is tremendous and gorgeous at night.

I didn't care for CBR. It's the oldest mod and is way too big. If you get stuck out in Trinidad South, you may as well be at another resort because you are so far removed from everything. There are no elevators at CBR either.

Another vote for CSR!! Our kids love the resort and especially the slide. The grounds are beautiful, the CM's are the best and the atmosphere is magical.

I will have to vote for POR or POR FQ. I think the theming is the best of the moderates, so pretty. Great food court and a boat ride to DTD makes it the winner for me!

Enjoy your trip and let us know what you choose! :goodvibes

Definitely CSR! The buses are better, the pool is better and the restaurants are great! You won't find a better mod.

CSR!! I love CSR for the atmosphere, great CM's and the deluxe-lite feel. CSR offers a spa, salon, full menu room service and fitness center not to mention a terrific main pool area and the best transportation that is not shared with any other resort. With free dining, you won't find a better spot than the Pepper Market. I don't know of any other counter service spot that will serve you rib eye and prime rib steaks.

I'd never return to the PO resorts after the time I had with the buses and looonng queues leaving the parks.

We love POFQ because it small and not as far to walk to the food court or the bus stop; however, the lines at the parks to come home are long and arduous after being in the park all day. We loved the theming and it is the only moderate that my son talks about returning to.

I loved the atmosphere at CBR but it is very spread out.

Another vote for CSR for all the reasons mentioned. CSR is much more of an upscale mod than the others. I take advantage of the deluxe offerings like room service and the spa. My son likes to use the gym too. It's truely a great resort.

We also love CSR.

I haven't tried other mods yet because we keep being called back "home".:goodvibes

Another vote for CSR here!! The atmosphere is really great.

I've stayed there on 2 visits for a week and it was wonderful (been there for conventions). I took DS4 for the 1st time last year and he had a blast. While I was at the convention, DS & DH would spend the day at the main pool which he enjoyed and after we would come back from the parks in the evenings we would go to the quiet pools. DH & DS also rented the boats to go around the lake and did the pedal boats as well. The PepperMarket has a great variety of food to choose from and the CM's always went that extra mile fo ensure we had a good stay. Since we were also celebrating DS4 birthday several CM's gave us several pixie dust for DS.

We will begin to plan our next Disney trip for next year and we will definitely be staying at CSR again.

Enjoy your trip!

We love CSR. We've always had good luck with the buses there, we've always had a seat on the way to the parks. The times we've been to the pool, it's not empty but not over-run - about what I'd expect for a Disney resort. We love the Pepper Market - above-average food and huge portions. I'm anxious to try the new quick-service Cafe Rix on our next trip. I love the Panchitos store - huge store with great selection. Yes, the CSR is spread out, but that makes it feel very lush and spacious. The pool is super cool, too.

My husband and I stayed at POFQ by ourselves and it was nice, too, but I didn't like how close the buildings were to each other - seemed kind of cramped or closed-in to me. Everything was convenient, though. The food court was decent but was basic food-court food. Nothing exceptional about it.
