My husband and I are planning a very last minute trip for our 10 year anniversary. We know we don't want a value resort, but don't want to break the back on a Deluxe either. CSR is sold out for the dates we want, so what moderate would you choose and why? Also, I'm not familiar with the transportation from any of these resorts, so if someone could shed some light on the subject, I would appreciate that as well!

We only stay at the CSR because we are so happy there. However, if we were to try another moderate, it would definitely be the POFQ. We like the compact size and the themeing better than the other two.

Our fav is POFQ. It's small, has only one bus stop, the best pool, and it has the boat that goes to DTD. We've stayed at CBR, CSR, and Riverside and we love POFQ the most.

Look at the photos of POR, CBR and POFQ and choose which theme you like best and would find the most pleasing to the two of you. :)

To view the resorts/rooms go over to the allears.net website it is very helpful. POR and CBR are very big resorts and may (depending on room location) have longer walks, my family doesn't mind walking so it has never been an issue. POR/POFQ only has buses to parks and they share buses except on busy days, with POFQ being picked up and dropped off first. This resort is also the only resort that has a boat to DTD, a very nice trip. CBR has internal bus system and then only buses to all the parks. Word is that the cabins are now a Mod and they have an internal bus system and then buses to all parks and a boat to MK.
If you decide on either POFQ or POR, I would definitely make a reservation for a horse drawn carriage ride that is located at POR.
Hope this helps and have a great anniversary.

We've stayed twice at CBR and will be at POR this December and have walked around all of them. POFQ doesn't appeal to us much just because of the themeing - just not our thing, nothing other than that. We don't mind if the resort is spread out - we're on vacation - relaxing strolls can be a good thing. :)

Just pick the one that has the theming you think you'd like most and I don't think you can really go wrong.

DITTO...we loved POFQ. Theming, small size of resort, bus service was good too.

I was all ready to book POFQ when DH asked me to look at SS. So, now I'm back to the drawing board, although I've heard SS is very nice :goodvibes

I love to stay at POFQ with my daughter because of the size. But for a romantic trip for two, POR is great! The grounds are beautiful and the boat to DTD at night is romantic. I stayed here on my honeymoon 10 years ago and loved it. I was also there this past January. It is so pretty and relaxing. I enjoy walking to the bus stop and food court - I know others will say this makes the resort less appealing.

Don't forget the beignets, the very secluded hot tub, and Elliot Dyson at Scat Cats too if you choose POFQ.

I would pick CBR or POFQ...we stayed at CBR like 3 years ago and loved it. Transportation was great.

I did not like POR so I say POFQ,although I have not stayed in the FQ I just think it would be better.

We've stayed at CSR, POR and visited POFQ one day.
We really fell in love with the PO resorts both are very nice and
romantic. I grew up on Mississippi River in between Baton Rouge and New Orleans
Louisiana and I feel right at home at POR. We visit LA once a year with
a must visit to New Orleans for Beignets. When we go to the PO Resorts
all of what we love about Lousiana it there plus we're at WDW.

I love the architecture at both PO resorts and especially love
the iron work at POFQ. I also loved the shape of the buildings
at POFQ--it looked much like New Orleans with a Touch of
Paris from "the Aristocats" movie. Until we were able to
see POFQ in person, I wasn't sure if I would like it or not based on
pictures I'd seen but when we were actually there it was very Nice.
The Boat Ride to DTD is so fun and convenent.
While at POR we saw several couples take a romantic
Carriage Ride around the resort.

If CSR isn't available, then I'd choose POFQ for a romantic trip.

We have stayed at both CBR and POFQ and we fell in love with POFQ because it was small and quaint. It has the first bus stop, which means you get picked up first and dropped off first (shared with POR). After a long day in park the walk to your room won't kill your feet! But we did love those beignets, too. They were sooo yummy! It's the only place that my DS talks about returning to.

Thank you all so much for your help. Once I found out there were beignets, I told DH we were staying at POFQ and I was having beignets for breakfast every morning :rotfl2:

I looked at POR, and decided that while it does look very romantic, I like the smaller size of POFQ. Now, if I could just get the current discount code to apply to my travel dates I'd be very happy!

DITTO again! We bought into the DVC for SSR but we loved POFQ for moderate choice. So quaint and pretty and from what I remember...sort of quiet, compared to some others. The scenery there is just so relaxing and beautiful. And who doesn't love 1 bus stop. Have fun!

Oh, thank you so much! We honeymooned at Disney World in 1998, and had hoped to go back for our anniversary, but had not planned a trip. Last week, we decided you only have the opportunity to celebrate your 10 year anniversary once, so why not go! I'm so excited, and it's great because my husband is even more excited than I am. He LOVES Disney

thanks again to all of you for your thoughts and well wishes.
