Which moderate?

DH and I are doing a week in December, and his parents will be staying at whichever resort we pick. I'm so excited we can do a mod this year (stayed at sports last year, which was great, but I'm really looking forward to staying at a mod)
We've ruled out Coronado Springs, It's pretty much down to POR, FQ (which I'm torn between, but I think deep down I want POR to be better so we can stay there) and Carribean Beach which I think the in laws prefer (but I think I'd enjoy more in summer)

There's a few factors I'm considering such as:
Which is the nicest for Christmas? What kind of decorations?
How bad does pop warner really affect the stay? Which resort is worst? Best?
Is transportation the same efficiency at all resorts?

Food service/ restaurants aren't that important, with the exception of our refillable mugs I don't think we'll eat at resort.

Thank you so much for any input!!

It's too bad you rules out CSR. They have the best decorations of all the mods and some deluxes. CSR also has the best transportation, pool/slide and food options.

Wow, beautiful pictures! I don't know, I guess we'll keep it in the running, my only deterrent is that we live in Arizona now and I feel like we're so familiar with the Mexican and desert theme, we want something different when we go on vacation. Thank you for the beautiful photos though, they are making CSR considered.

I'm with Buzz2001, it's ashame that CSR has been ruled out. My DS 6 loved the pool, he could have stayed there all day. CSR is also the only moderate with a health spa. But I can understand you wanting to try something different. I've never stayed at either of the Orleans resorts but they do look really beautiful. Good luck choosing!

Me too! Especially at x-mas time, CSR has such great decorations.

I would go with POR. The theming is awesome and it is such a relaxing place. The mansions and surrounding areas are awesome!!! DH said it is better than the BC. :confused3 I loved it too. DS17 thought the pool area was great, even at midnight!! DD16 just liked to say she stayed in a "mansion". Boatrights was great too! The boatride to DTD was so wonderful. I enjoyed getting to see the treehouses. We had to share a bus with POFQ once and even then it wasn't crowded. We had to wait five minutes one time for a bus. There is a lot to do at POR with the marina, fishing, and bicycle and surrey rentals. It was just an awesome place to stay!!!

We just got back from POR in Feb. We loved it nice and quiet . We enjoyed the boatride to downtown beautiful pictures to take around the resort. The mansion section looked like the old south. You said you would not be eating at the resort. You have to check out boatwrights breakfast. They have a banana stuffed french bread toast that is awsome and a sweet potato pancake with pecan praline syrup that is good also. My husband ate the banana stuffed french toast every morning. I got the recipe so I could make it for him at home. I ended up cancelling 2 character buffets so he could have his french toast. If you have children they will enjoy feeding the ducks in the morning by the river.

Our favorite is CSR, but we also enjoyed our stay at POR very much. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these resorts.

If you are worried about Pop Warner crowd, they'd choose POFQ. As a small resort Disney doesn't normally place groups there. It also has a very secluded hot tub.

Best place to be (for a mod) during x-mas is CSR! Great decorations, terrific transportation and the food court is the best (especially on the DDP).

I can vouch for both POR and POFQ! I just got back from POFQ on Wednesday and we really enjoyed our stay there! While both of them are beautiful, my whole family agreed that we much prefer POFQ. We were literally about 2 minutes from everything - lobby, food court, bus stop, boat launch. :thumbsup2

I have stayed at all the mods except for CBR. I LOVED POFQ. It was great - beautiful grounds, and I loved how the buildings all look like rowhomes - they were easy to tell apart. (We stayed in mansions at the POR and I can't tell you how many times I got lost and walked into the wrong building because they all looked the same). Plus I loved the size - we were in building 7, furthest from the main building, and it took only 5 minutes to walk there. it was also great to be able to take the boat to DTD, and we found the buses to always be efficient.
