I am beginning to plan our next trip to the World!!!:cheer2: Trying to pick a resort. We stayed at POFQ, CBR and CS. My favorite of those was POFQ, I like the fact that it is small and easy to get around. My least favorite was CBR because it is sooo big! I want to try POR but I'm afraid I won't like it because it is also a big resort. How does the size of POR compare to CBR? Which moderate resort is your favorite?

sounds like you need to go back to POFQ.

POR was my favorite. Loved it when much younger. Loved the food courts, pools, atmosphere - all the little things that Disney is so good at.

now my favorite place was Magnolia Terrace building 85. standard view.
then a water view was the fountains???? which you also got with a standard view.

here's a map

Having stayed at all four of the mods, I also disliked CBR and CSR too. POFQ is my absolute favorite resort. I have nothing bad to say about, and I have always had a great stay there. You can't beat the quietness and small size of the resort. I love French Quarter so much that I kind of feel bad for staying somewhere else in November.. but I will be right next door at Riverside! :)

POR is a big resort, but it doesn't feel as big as CBR because of the landscaping and trees and rustic, New Orleans grounds. If that sounds confusing, there is much more shade around POR than CBR, so walking anywhere wasn't too bad and it was quite peaceful and relaxing, they gave us our rooms in the furthest building possible, but we still made the best of it. The good thing was that we had the West Depot bus stop literally right outside of our rooms so that was great at night after a long day in the parks. They have preferred buildings, but not everyone wants to pay more to be closer, unless it is a big factor.

I would choose POR over CBR in a heart beat. If you are really wanting to try something new, I think you would love POR. I just love the boats to DTD. The pools are great, the food court is one of the best in my opinion, and you have all of the amenities at Riverside so that is nice.

I've stayed at POR, POFQ, and CBR, and I would have to say that my favorite is POR.

I also did not care for CBR - I wasn't too impressed with the theming, felt that it was too spread out, and the bus service is the worst that I've experienced at any resort (although, to be fair, it was probably just luck of the draw!).

I really loved POFQ and would happily stay there again! I loved how quaint it was, the size of the resort, and the beautiful, themed grounds. However, I thought the interior of the rooms at POR looked nicer (we stayed in the Mansions) and the food court was considerably better, with more options. Although POFQ does have beignets...

In terms of size, I did feel like POR was less spread out than CBR. I went with my mom who is in her mid-sixties and neither of us had any trouble with the walk to the food court, front desk, etc. However, if someone in your party has mobility issues, it can't hurt to reserve a preferred room if it is a high priority.
