Which Moderate Resort has the biggest WOW factor for a first timer?

Any first timer will say "Wow"!!!!! When they realize the size of CBR, CSR and POR. That's probably the wow factor that will stick with them the most.

I voted POR because I will never forget the first moment I saw it, driving up and seeing the mansions appear from behind the trees. It was a 'wow' moment for me and my family. I have stayed at CSR and CBR as well but only had the 'Wow' feeling with POR

I think it really depends on your preference. I love CBR because I love the Caribbean feel. I voted for POR though because I think in general it offers the most. It's beautiful, has the boat to DTD, and has great amenities. While some love POFQ because of size, the creep factor in the food court and cheesy statues around the pool make it feel more like a value to me. I would not feel impressed going there for my first visit.

while I love PO (R and FQ) if you want wow then would go with CSR. It has a gym, spa, and salon - it is the only moderate that does - that is because it has conventions.

i think it depends on what's the most exotic to you/them. anything far from the familiar is going to leave a big impression.

I also would choose POR as the most beautiful & relaxing Moderate. There is nothing that I would change about POR - it is perfect!!!

My favorite resort currently is POFQ, but when I walked through POR for the very first time, I had the "Wow" reaction.

I love the lobby there, and adore the entrance to POFQ. Not sure what's wrong with me that I find there to be a WOW factor in those places. Lobby at GF is just big, lobby at Contemporary is LOUD, lobby at Poly is LOUD and big. Those aren't WOW to me. WOW is beauty for me.

The pool at CSR is impressive (though the only time we used it was during a lovebug infestation and it was the WORST there in our experience). I wasn't impressed *at all* by CBR. Except by the CM who quietly explained to me what the Pirate room's privacy curtain can "do" in the middle of the night if someone goes into the bathroom and turns on the light while keeping the curtain closed. (it lights it up from behind, which can look very frightening to a young child) Since I had a young child with me, I was very glad to know, so I could show him and make sure he understood that it was just a curtain, in case that combo happened during the night.

CBR- stayed here on our first trip in 2007, thought it was beautiful. Agree about the 'lobby', not spectacular, but the resort itself is lovely.

Hi everyone!

We are planning to possibly do WDW with a friend of ours in a few years. At 25 he has never been. We will probably be staying moderate and I was wondering- which resort do you think will awe a first timer the most- and why?

CSR...Especially at night....You'll see what I mean. But We consider it also to be a Deluxe-Lite.....It's almost like a deluxe w/out paying the deluxe pricing

As pp's have said, moderates are all nice, and great hotels, but none have a "WOW" factor upon walking into them. Value's all have the large decorations, a big disney feel to them, makes you feel like a kid again.

Then with deluxes, walking into the AKL lobby takes my breath away everytime, same with the GFlo, and there's something super special about Beach/Yacht Club as well!

I chose FQ on your list simply because it's my favorite resort. The price isn't too steep, it's a MUCH smaller resort, thus less walking, food court is decent, atmosphere of the resort is awesome, there's only 1 central bus stop, and you get to share amenities with Riverside!

I chose CSR. My reasons are: While my family( DH (55) me (52) DD (22) DS (20) doesn't spend a lot of time in the lobby of any hotel we did like the looks and feel of CSR. We looked at pictures of all of the rooms of the moderates and preferred the rooms of CSR. Loved the grounds. They were different from our area. Also while the resort is spread out we didn't feel as though any thing was too far. We liked the choices in the Pepper Market. Didn't wait long for a bus-and this was the week between Christmas and NY. Resort didn't feel crowded. We haven't stayed at the other moderates but have visited all of them. We would stay at CSR again if we were looking to save on the room.
