Which Moderate has the best bus service

We are going to Disney in November. I have a room booked at ASMo. However, we have come into some extra $$$ and I am thinking of upgrading to a moderate. We have never stayed at a moderate before, so I am not very familiar with them. I am having a hard time deciding and DH is tired of listening to me. Here are some main things for us. Our kids are little and can't go all day at the parks, so we will be spending some down time at the resort. Also, the bus service and food court are important to us. I don't want to spend a lot of time waiting for a bus since we will be coming and going from the resort. We will probably be eating several meals at the food court because my kids aren't good at sit down restraunts. We want one with some variety. Which seem to have the best?? Help. I have been so indecisive about this trip that Dh is ready to divorce me!!

It depends on what you define as "best bus service"...

Coronado Springs would potentially have the least crowded buses, while Caribbean Beach or Riverside would potentially have the more frequent buses.

We've always had excellent bus service while at CBR. This resort is fun for the kids with all the bright colors and sandy beaches with playgrounds, yet has a romantic flair which the adults appreciate. The food court was just remodeled last year, and all of the rooms were totally refurbished within the last 2 years.
Good luck with your decision! :)

Our best bus service has been at CSR. The busses are not crowded at all (we always got a seat even at peak times) and they were very frequent.

The resort itself is very beautiful and is the most deluxe of the moderates. We love CSR so much that even though we are looking at a deluxe for our next trip I keep thinking we might be wasting our money because CSR is just so nice.

I can't tell you the best service but I can recommend NOT staying at CBR.

We were there last June & I did not like the bus service. It was sometimes a long wait for the buses & then they would be FULL. Now, if it was just an adult trip it would not be too bad. But we had a 3 yr old & to have him stand (when people would not offer their seat to a child) it was bad. I was worried he was going to fall when the bus would turn, etc.

It seemed like the worsed were buses going to Magic Kingdom, although Animal Kingdom was pretty full at times too.

I haven't stayed at the other moderates but I heard CSR has pretty good bus service.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

I may be biased here. But I think out of the moderates, CSR has the best bus service. During the day most people staying at the resort are at a convention so, the busses are basically empty and they run quite frequently :)

I may very old fashioned but I was raised to respect my elders and raised my children the same way. Never would I expect an adult to give up their seat for one of my children, rather I would expect my child to offer their seat for an adult. I'm always amazed when on a WDW bus, I see senior citizens standing and younger men and women not offering the seniors their seat.

Oh I agree with senior citizens along with pregnant women SHOULD get a seat. I even offered my seat to an older lady when we were down there BUT I also don't feel small child should have to stand on a bus either! If I saw a child 5 yrs or under standing I offered my seat to them.
For me that is just the right thing to do.
For one thing is it a safety issue with me & having younger kids standing (I am not talking about older kids) while the bus is in motion.
To each their own opinion, but if I see a senior citizen, a pregnant women OR a younger child I WILL get up & offer my seat to them.
That is just the "right" thing to do, IMO :)

btw---I did have a SUPER nice gentlemen offer ME a seat one night coming back from MGM. My son was sleeping so I had him asleep on me. I was trying to stand & carry my son at the same time while holding on (it wasn't easy, my son is close to 40 lbs & 43" inches) This gentlemen saw I was having trouble & he got up & told me to sit.

I think that Port Orleans has the best bus service - we have stayed there twice, and hardly ever had to wait long for a bus. While I can't speak for the bus service at the other moderates, Port Orleans would be my choice for bus service!

I've been to POR many times (check the siggy ;) ) and I never had problems with the busses. They come very frequently, and since you're not in a far off corner of the world, it doesn't take long to get anywhere.

Thanks everyone!!!!!!!! I am so glad I found this board. I would be lost without you. I upgraded to CSR this morning :) Dh looked at the pictures on Deb's site last night and really liked CSR. Then after reading your posts about not having crowded buses, it confirmed our decision. My 5 yr. old was very excited after seeing the dig site. Looks like this is a good fit for our family. Thanks for all your help. Oh by the way, the CM said no AP rates yet, but to keep checking back because she does expect they will have them.

Truthfully, I think the bus service all depends on WHEN you go to WDW, we have gone during peak times (staying at beautiful CBR) and service was alittle slower (but not unbearable) than when we usually go during value season in August-September. During the value times I have noticed that we have never waited more than 10-15 min at CBR for buses. Also, do not be afraid of staying at CBR, it is a wonderful, clean, beautiful resort, I know a poster above disagrees and I am sorry for their bad experience, but I have stayed there for the last 5 years and have always loved it, in fact, next year, just to try another resort, we are going to OKW, but I my heart will still be at CBR. It is my all time favorite.

You will love CSR-it's our favorite resort!

sue- while I agree that young people should give up their seats to MUCH older people, little ones just cannot be expected to hold on for their lives. We had a vey scary experience one night going back to ASSp.

I think you hit the nail on the head.
We like CBR for the resort itself but during the time we went the bus service was really lacking & very busy. Went went from 6/14-6/27...that probably had a lot to do with it.

I bet there is someone out there who can say they had bad bus service from each resort.
I know when we went the CBR seemed VERY FULL, which in turn made the buses feel full.

Personally from our experience, if we were going in the summer time again or during any other busy time, we would not pick CBR, just because of the transportation.

Although I agree the resort itself was very nice.
