I am planning to stay in one of the Disney moderate hotels for a few days in an upcoming vacation. I have never stayed in a moderate before. We usually stay in an Epcot hotel. What is you preference and why? I was leaning towards CS or CBR but I can be swayed in another direction. CS has a direct bus to the Boardwalk which I like but many people think CBR is very attractive. Is one better at Christmas...is one better in March? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks:wave2: :bounce: :bounce:

CBR is a beautiful resort!!!! You will feel like you have truly escaped to the islands. You can see the Epcot fireworks from the beach at Martinique.

Hands down, this is the best moderate on property! It is small, so that no matter what building you are in, it is a very quick walk to everything. It is very quaint and the pool is great. My family & I have stayed here many times and have never had a bad experience. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for POR or CBR. Won't be heading back to either of those again.

POR is the bests resort. The fishing hole, bike rentals, hair wraps, boat rentals, great pool, poo bar, and boat to Downtown Disney are why I like this resort. Oh and the relaxing atmosphere.

I agree with confal1, we just returned from POR and had a GREAT stay. Everything about the hotel was wonderful. We never heard from our neighbors, we were close to the small pool in alligator bayou, so that worked out great for a quick dip in the pool, even our housekeeper was great. She'd always make little decorations out of the towles...lol, one day we came back to a bird nest and birds hanging between our beds, it was very nice, and it added a little excitment to see what the next day would bring. Maybe they do this at every WDW Resort, but it was a fun thing to come back to everyday!

We just returned from 10 days there and I must say ... I am just in LOVE with this resort!!!!!!!! It is small, intimate and we NEVER waited more than 10 - 15 minutes for a bus! Not to mention the fact that unless you are coming from Downtown Disney, you are the first to be 'dropped off' on the bus routes. No matter what bldg you are in, you are close to it all. The food court was nice, the grounds amazing and only ONE bus stop! The POR was very lovely, but there are so many bldgs there and therefore many more bus stops. PLUS the POFQ was just refurbished and Oh So Comfy!!! I am so glad that we got to stay there and we are returning in June to Pop and I really wish we could stay at POFQ again ... but alas, our goal is to 'sample' each resort at least once before returning to another resort.

Coronado Springs. Nice views. Best pool. Great eating.

We're going to POFQ for the first time in May. We've stayed in both CBR and CSR and we both preferred CSR.

POR by far my favorite! The most beautiful, peaceful moderate. It's a moderate that feels like a deluxe. (plus it does not have bird poop island like CBR)

I like the CBR for it's themeing, layout and landscaping. It's a very pretty resort.

 I love both CBR and CSR. They are both beautiful resorts. I lean towards CBR but only slightly. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. One word of warning, CSR is very spread out so if walking is an issue make sure you at least request a room close to the areas that are important to you. :)

We stayed at CBR Nov. 03' and loved it. Even though the resort is huge, it really didn't play a big factor in our stay.
We are however going to try POFQ this nov. and we are looking forward to a great stay!!
Good luck with your choice.

We have stayed at both and I would say we like the CS resort a bit better, but only because we love Pepper Market, the food court at the resort. The pool is nice, there are quiet pools, there is a fitness room if you want to work out (as if we ever did - hah!!), and it's newer than CBR.

CBR was the first resort we stayed at in WDW, and we did enjoy it. I think you can get very far away from the main buildings where the food and shopping are, but if you don't mind that and would like a more tripically themed resort this one should be fine as well.

that the CBR is a beautiful resort the Rooms are DISGUSTING!
DIRTY
OLD
and just overall not up to Disney's or anyone's standards in my HO!

We just returned yesterday and I will not go back to this resort until it has had a complete makeover of it's Rooms. WE even found a roach no not a palmetto bug(although technically this is a roach)in our room the second day there. We had to have the Bedspread replaced because of the large yellow stain and the housekeeping staff member said "well I hope I can find one" I told her she could find one or wash that one but to remove it now. The carpet was stained and dirty, the mattress was worn out. I was really looking forward to staying here and was very disappointed. We stayed in room 2307 Martinique

That said Port Orleans French Quarter is where we stayed our first night there and if they could have transferred us back there Iwould have done it in a heartbeat!

BEAUTIFUL is the word I would describe for the rooms here.

All new and beautifully done you will not be disappointed in this resort at all.

I give the 1=poor 5-Excellant

CBR :earsboy:
POFQ :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy:
CSR :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy:

CSR is the only mod with high speed internet access & it also has the longest pool slide of the mods. :teeth:

We love the French Quarter. Didn't get to stay there last year because of the remodeling. Stayed at WL and it was great.

Anyone stayed at French Qtr. since it was remodeled?

We are making our first WDW trip in June and knew that we wanted to stay at a Moderate (have to get 2 rooms, so cost was a consideration). I spent a lot of time reading reviews from different websites - you may want to do this yourself. Here are a couple of the websites I found helpful.

www.tripadvisor.com
www.allears.net

After much time comparing pros/cons, we decided on POFQ. CSR was second choice, however I was concerned about the size and some of the negative reviews I'd read about the restaurants. It all depends on the features that are important to you. Good luck and happy planning.

Thanks for the posts to date. I think I am going to have to keep researching this before I book. The post about CBR was really disqusting so maybe I better narrow my choices.
