I'm planning a trip for May 2012, My boys ages 13, 11, 7 (8 by the time we leave) want to stay at one of these two resorts, Can anyone who has stayed please tell me the pro and cons of both?

We've never stayed at CSR but we thought CBR was great :goodvibes. We loved the caribbean theme, the pool (which has been redone since our stay in July 2002), and the food court. But the one thing that really sticks with us is the transportation.....we thought the buses were great. CBR is centrally located so it didn't take more than about 10 minutes to get anywhere. We think CBR has the best transportation out of all the resorts we've stayed at :thumbsup2. We had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again :wizard:.

These 2 were my least favorite mods, however, I would go with CSR over CBR. CBR's layout is very awkward, I didn't like the food court and they are still using double beds. CSR has a better food court, queen beds and a spa. To me, the best mods are POR and POFQ, and I personally like POR the best.

We've stayed at both and like each one for very different reasons.

CBR: rooms are larger than any of the other mods, quieter resort. Very small pool and pool area which can fill up during the day. Decent table service restaurant and food court. Great staff. Has the Pirate themed rooms which some people love (I can't stay in them because I hate skulls and there is a very large one on the curtain between sleeping area and sink area) We've had several bad experiences with bus service here

CSR: rooms aren't as large as CBR but have been remodeled to look more contemporary. The pool is huge and has an awesome water slide. The table service restaurant is one of our favorites and the food court (Pepper Market) has an incredible variety of foods to chose from. CSR isn't nearly as large as CBR and has beautiful (especially at night) walking paths all through it. Only had one bad experience with bus system. The staff has always been extremely helpful and welcoming.

My preference is CSR.

We've stayed at both. I like CSR better

CSR- liked the layout of the resort, better bus service, better housekeeping when we were there, more updated, more deluxe feel, did not like the added gratuity at pepper market if you ate indoors, I would never stay here if there was a big convention ( heard it is more an adult resort then), great playground

CBR- pool area with pirate ship play water play area, 2 slides in main pool, long walk to food court, resort and rooms looked somewhat old and outdated. My main dislike about this resort is that some of the buildings by parking lots are near a busy road. I do not like seeing/hearing traffic when I am in a Disney resort. Also don't stay here in the winter if it is cold like we did. It just takes away from the tropical feel.

Both food courts were good.

I think that CBR has double beds. We started staying at CSR because of the queen beds (we are not small people), and now it's our "home". Transportation is excellent. Great pool, beautiful grounds. In May you would be able to rent boats and such; it's never open for us, because we go in January.

Can't help with CBR, because we've never been there. Wherever you stay, enjoy your vacation!

Here's a copy of my recent post regarding a similar question. I thought it may be of help to you.

I've never stayed at the CSR or the Port Orleans resorts so I can not offer any comments or suggestions regarding them. However, we have stayed at the CBR and enjoy it so much that we find ourselves going back time and time again (6 times as a matter of fact).

As others may have mentioned, the CBR is a large resort but, to my family, that's a positive thing as the guests are distributed throughout the various villages and you don't feel crowded in. We have stayed at the CBR when it was booked to capacity and it certainly didn't feel like it. Even though the resort is large, we have never had a problem with walking anywhere on property. My 77 year old mother has gone with us the last two years and she was able to walk from our room in Jamaica 41 (one of the furthest buildings) to Old Port Royale (food court, main pool, etc.) with no issues at all even with the walk over the footbridge and through the island.

The main pool was redone two or three years ago and is really cool for both kids and adults. Our visits are usually over the Memorial Day holiday and, while the pool was busy, it wasn't so busy that we couldn't find room to swim. Having said that, most of the time, we'd take a dip in the village quiet pool, eat our snacks under the umbrella tables and...gasp...even do our laundry while swimming. I figure at least I'm swimming at a beautiful resort while washing our dirty clothes.

One of my husband's favorite things about the resort are the white sandy beaches. Not a day of our vacations go by without us going to the beach and resting our tired feet from a day of walking in the parks. It's such a nice relaxing way to unwind. Another plus is the fact that you can laze around in the hammocks or beach chairs and watch some of the higher Epcot fireworks. We have seen them from the beaches of Martinique and Jamaica and from the courtyard at Old Port Royale.

We have a couple of "down days" during our stays and we spend the majority of those days at the resort. We like to swim, relax on the beach or rent one of the boats or surrey bikes from the marina. You can also play a game of pool at the marina. The castmember working at the marina office told us that it was free of charge.

The bus transportation at the CBR has run efficiently during all of our stays. The buses do stop at each of the resort villages before leaving the resort but it doesn't take long to make the loop (with the exception of when the bus drivers have to help a person in a wheelchair or scooter board which would be a slight delay at any resort). As a matter of fact, I timed our rides to each of the theme parks. I started the time from the minute we sat down on the bus in Jamaica, made the other stops and pulled into the theme park bus stop. The times were as follows: 1) Hollywood Studios: 11 minutes; 2) Epcot: 10 and 11 minutes (we went twice); 3) Animal Kingdom: 15 minutes; 4) Magic Kingdom 13-16 minutes (we went multiple times). I failed to write down the times to Downtown Disney but it didn't take long either.

As far as the food court goes, I think the variety they offer is great. I can honestly say we haven't had a bad meal yet. Our favorites are the fresh tossed chicken ceasar salad, the reuben sandwich, the turkey BLT and the cheese pizzas. Oh and the delicious soups they serve at the pizza and pasta station. For breakfast, we enjoy the fresh baked items served at the grab n go station.

Hum....I guess that about covers it. I don't think you would be disappointed if you booked at stay at the CBR. If you have any other CBR questions, feel free to ask away.

Thanks everyone for the info, I looking to go from May 25-June 2 how are the crowds at that time?

Those are almost our travel dates as well. We will be at the CBR May 23 to June 2. We go to Disney during the last week of May through the first week of June every year. We haven't had any problems with the crowds but we also make use of the Fastpass system, evening EMH and avoid the Magic Kingdom on Memorial Day. Also, if you aren't interested in Star War Weekends, you might want to avoid Hollywood Studios on the weekends.

You may want to come over to my trip report (the link is in my signature below). Our trip last year was May 24 to June 4th so you'll be able to see pictures of the CBR and read about the wait times, etc.

Great I will take a look at tour TR, They actually are very interested in the star wars event thats why I'm booking during that time.

I just started on our Star Wars Weekend day and posted it a few days ago. I should be adding a new installment tomorrow!
