Which Mod for a Romantic Getaway?

I would choose POFQ - small, quiet, romantic New Orleans setting. My second choice would be Coronado Springs. In October DH and I stayed there without the kids. It was also quiet, peaceful and romantic. Of course, that may have been because we left the kids at home;)

DH and I enjoy CBR. We find the grounds to be beautiful and love the tropical romantic feel to it. We love laying on a hammock by the lake in the evening watching IllumiNations! :lovestruc

They are all very nice. However, I think the queen beds, dining options (night club and room service included) and upgraded room features, not to mention a spa make CSR a very good choice. POFQ is also very romantic, but it only has one pool and its a popular choice with families with smaller children due to its size. That pool is generally crowded. You can use the pools at POR if you do choose POFQ but to me, that's not all that convenient. CBR is lush and tropical and beautful as is POR.

But having stayed at all of them, if I was picking one for a romantic getaway, CSR would be my hands down pick.

Pick which theme you like best, and I would book a king room. We have stayed at CBR and CSR and prefer CBR, love the tropical theme and find it to be very quiet and relaxing.

I would go with CSR or POFQ. As several people like to point out, the CSR is a "convention" resort and not as kid friendly so there seems to be less kids than some of the other moderates. It is a spread out resort. W have stayed seven times, the most recent our 25th wedding anniversary trip, and we find it very romantic. The POFQ is the only other moderate we would consider. It is smaller and quaint. Check out the themes and amenities to see which suits you best.

CBR, with its beaches and hammocks, wonderful caribbean theme and beautiful foliage throughout the resort....:thumbsup2

Second this.

We really liked the POR mansion section. Some people don't like it because it's more spread out. For us, we thought it was great because we were able to take romantic walks along the water. We were in Parterre which is close to POFQ, so we alternated walking to POFQ and POR main buildings.

We also liked the POR pools (main and secluded pools) over the POFQ pool.

POR and POFQ have carriage rides and they also have a nice boat ride to DTD.

Like LoraJ said. It's really a matter of which theme do you like.

POR! Mansion side. Magnolia Terrace building. Lovely grounds. Beautiful landscaped courtyard, with a gazebo towards the river. Each mansion has something a bit different...the fountains, the gardens, a butterfly garden, etc. You can take long (or short) walks through the lovely grounds. Walk over to Alligator Bayou and wander thru those curving walkways. Plus, you can walk (or take the boat) to FQ, and check that out. Carriage rides available. Love the 24/7 quiet pools. So nice to take a late night dip...been lucky enough to have it to ourselves.

you'll get many opinions but I think Coronado would be your best bet for a romantic getaway

ITA. We also had a free upgrade to a King room. The quiet walks on the water were perfect.

CSR is a beautiful resort with a deluxe feel. I like this one for adults because there are fewer children then at POR or POFQ. I've never stayed at CBR so I can't comment on that.

Okay it is either FQ or CSR here are some differences:
FQ still has a table and chairs / CSR has a desk
CSR looks like they have more options of food at their court food
CSR has renovated rooms with queen beds
CSR has a Mexican theme / FQ New Orleans theme
FQ has carriage rides
FQ marina is open all the time / CSR is not
FQ is smaller / CSR is larger
CSR has those golf carts you have to move out of the way of
FQ has the boart ride to Downtown Disney
CSR doesn't share buses
CSR has conventioners

Did I forget anything?? Still a hard choice but I am really leaning towards FQ

My husband and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary at CSR, and we loved it. Right outside our room were alot of beautiful hibiscus, and then some beach sand and hammocks alongside the lake, very pretty. The pool is very nice and also the largest hot tub on property. It was never crowded, and as far as the 'convention' goes we never noticed them very much. They are not on the busses so that leaves busses not too crowded. The pool has a bar and snack bar as well. The grounds are beautiful to walk around day or nite they have benches also if you want to sit awhile, they have a great lounge, and the food court is the best I have been at yet. As far as the golf carts go yes they have golf carts, but we did not find them to be a problem. We had a renovated room and had requested a king bed. Everyone was so nice and friendly to us. Also they have an outside seating area lakeside and at nite they have candles on the tables, there is also another bar there, this is right outside the main bldg. Very romantic. You can get a massage here also. They have room service. For us it was the perfect place. Do your research on both resorts that will help in your decision.

I would say CSR, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of them!:goodvibes

DH and I just got back from a lovely week (2-19/2-26) at POFQ.

We were upgraded for free (though this may not happen for you) to a king room. Building 1 room 1332 it was a corner room facing the river. You really would not have known that there were kids there if you didn't see them.

The pool is not something we do, so it didn't matter if there were lots of people there. As others have stated there is a carriage ride $45 for 30 minutes and the boat to DD. The walk along the river over to POR is also very nice and only takes maybe 10 minutes if that.

We only went to POR twice to pick, up the rest of the time POFQ had its own buses. Also if they do pick up at POR, POFQ is picked up and dropped off first.

They also offer entertainment down in the small lounge, Wed-Sat starting at 8:00 pm.
