Which MK Fireworks Dessert party with EEH?

I'm thinking of booking a Fireworks Dessert party for our party of 5 since it will be my son's girlfriend first time to WDW. I've done both the Post Party & Seats and Treats.

We will try to book for a Wednesday night when there is also EEH (which we will be attending).

My question is, which is the best option when you plan to attend extra evening hours? I liked the post party because we had a better choice of seats during the fireworks, but if we choose post party, it will eat into our EEH time.

I would book the pre party. The best view is from the plaza garden (esp the castle projections). The further back you stand the better (most people try to shuffle forward). You sit for an hour to eat desserts anyway, so that should be enough. You can enter the plaza garden about 30 mins before fireworks (might be able to ride the people mover if you line up to check in 15-20 mins before check in time). If it’s super crowded I would wait for crowds to clear (10 mins max after fireworks).

I would not do the post party as it would cut into your EETPHs. I would ride the low wait Tomorrowland rides and then venture towards Fantasyland as day guests exit.

If you’re not going during a super crowded period, I would line up about 45 mins before infront of the ice cream parlor (where the white line is marked). It’s a great view without having to pay for a dessert party. The walkway infront is kept clear and it’s slightly elevated so someone holding a child won’t block your view.

Btw we were told not to hold kids above shoulders in the plaza garden viewing area. CMs did come through and stop people who did it anyway prior to fireworks. During fireworks one person towards the end of the viewing area still held his child above his shoulders but CMs did not stop him (people behind him were able to move).

How is the view for kids in the viewing area?

I’d be tempted to book both garden parties. Use one person in your group to hold the other res. This way if park hours extend closer to your trip (fairly common) you can do the after party avoiding the exiting crowds and the crowds dashing off to get one more ride in before EEH. Keep the pre-party as a backup in case they don’t extend hours so you don’t eat into EEH.

It can get crowded but most of the new fireworks are up high. Some people were holding kids up (on their waist). We did go on 12/30 so one of the more busier days.

People were still walking in 30 mins before fireworks:

We were off to the side a bit. We wanted a bit of wiggle room so didn’t venture further left

Great idea. Without EETPH we prefer the after party. It’s just much more relaxed and you can get closer to the front. In the past (enchantment had more castle projections) they would allow kids to get up to the front rail and the adults would stay back which was much better for the kids.

They had people keep the walkways clear and people sat on the grass (in the past we were told it was for wheelchairs) until 5 mins before fireworks when they make everyone stand.

Yes, I was leaning towards the pre-party, but I wasn't sure if we'd feel rushed during the dessert portion.

We are going during a busier time (spring break 3/23-3/29), but since Easter is later this year, maybe it won't be that bad :rolleyes1 :). Great tip for the viewing area near the ice cream parlor. I'm going to make note of that.

This a great idea! The last time we did the post-party, the park hours were extended. We left the dessert area to ride one ride and on our way out the dessert area was still open. They let us back it and we got a few more treats and a glass of bubbly.

Fingers crossed hours will be extended since we will be there during Spring Break.

I found this video helpful if you do decide to watch without the dessert party (although for spring break/young kids I would book it esp since you will be drinking alcohol)
