Which mini-golf course?

Hello!

We're going to WDW with our DS (6) and DD (will be 3). I've always wanted to mini-golf there. This trip, we will be down there long enough to do "outside-of-the-park" stuff. What I'm wondering is -- which mini-golf course would you recommend we do with young children?

Any info./suggestions are appreciated. Also, if you've been there recently, how much does it cost?

Thanks!

We like WinterSummerland personally, it's $10 for adults, not sure the pice for kids.

I second Winter/Summerland! :) Although the other one by the Swan & Dolphin is a close, close second (for us). We love putt-putt!

Really you can't go wrong with either one. Both would be enjoyed by any age.

I would also recommend WinterSummerLand at Blizzard Beach because it is quite an easy course and so is ideal for children.

In fact, if there were only adults in your party I'd go for Fantasia Gardens, because myself and DW found WSL a little TOO easy for our liking last time we played it - there was no challenge there for us!

Winter/Summerland is excellent for young kids; much easier than Fantasia Gardens.

If you play the second course on the same day as the first, you play the second for half-price.

Also remember to have the CM check for the 'bonus hole' after your round. If a member of your party gets a hole-in-one on the 'bonus hole', you get a free soda. My son won last time we were there.

We always go to Winter Summerland. We always go at night too, but then again we are late people and we always get a rental car. If you are late people and have a car then i would suggest going at night, it is usually empty.

I have done the Winter side of Winter Summerland. . . and the Fantasia Gardens. I enjoyed the Fantasia Gardens much more- But I think that the Winter Summerland Course may be better for the youger kids.

Thanks for all the opinions! It sounds like Winter Summerland would be the best choice for us with our two little ones. Does it matter which of their courses? Is one easier than the others? This is the one at Blizzard Beach, correct? If so, is it outside Blizzard Beach? We are not doing Park Hopper Plus (with water parks) -- so I wouldn't want to pay to get into Blizzard Beach on top of mini-golf.

Thanks, in advance, for answering the next set of questions, too! :flower:

WInter Summerland is outside. If u take the bus walk towards the entrance of BB but keep on going and there is a walkway to mini-golf. Neither side is harder than the other in my opinion. Do whichever you feel you want to do. Since my family goes every year we usually do 1 course one year and then the next year we do the other one.

:earsboy: We loved Winter Summerland! It was a lot of fun. My kids are 6 and 2 1/2 and had a great time there last month!

At Winter-Summerland, we have found the winter course to be a touch easier on the scorecard

At Fantasia Gardens, the Fantasia course is quite fun as well - the kids would enjoy that one

Outside of WDW, there are some neat ones:

On 535 (if you have a car), there is the Hawaian Rumble (has an eurpting Volcano and lots of water), by Goodings, there is Pirate's Cove - lots of hills and vertical change with some water and on 192 not too far from Sherbeth Road is Bonanza (mining type theme) and finally on 192 east of 535 there is a Congo River that is decent as well

if you can get hold of a savings booklet, there are coupons for mini-golf off of WDW property

if you are a DVC member, you can use your card and get 15% discount on WDW mini-golf, and 50% if you are an AP holder

cheers

Ok, I didn't know this. There is a winter and a summer side? So can you do both sides or the same price or do you pay for each side?
ETA:
How would one get there via bus if Blizzard Beach is down for refurb? When ever we visit TL is the only water park open.

You have to pay separate fees, and actually have to pay separately (i.e. not on one "ticket") - there is a bounceback discount - I think it is 50% on your 2nd round same day at any other mini-golf in WDW

In terms of the Bus if BB is under refurb, good question, I will post on the transportation board

Whoa! Is that 50% off if you are a DVC member + holding an AP or 50% if you just have an AP?

There are a lot of perks to having an AP. I should look into it for our next trip! Now you have me thinking. Thanks! :) :flower:

15% off for being a DVC Member
50% off for being an AP holder (does not matter if you are staying onsite or offsite or DVC member etc...)

Discounts not cumulatibe ;)

Yep, AP's have good perks

Thank you to everyone for your replies! I cannot wait to try out one of the courses. I just love mini-golf -- can't wait to do it Disney-style! :earsboy:

They should still run busses to it even if BB is closed. They may be a little more infrequent though. We like the winter course but generally play both of them while we are there.

Beware the frosty snowman looking character on the winter course
