Need a decent roon for 2 adults and 2 kids for 1st night of arrival. Which have you tried and how was it? We prefer one w/ shuttle to airport and maybe a continental breakfast or a restaurant nearby.

Just back from a super week at WDW...we arrived after 11PM on 11/14...I had a reservation through Priceline for <$40 including taxes and fees (all of the 3* hotels on Priceline in the MCO area have complimentary airport shuttles) at the Holiday Inn Select. It was excellent for an overnight. The shuttle arrived in less than 5 minutes, very nice lobby, I had called ahead and requested a room with a king and sofa bed, NS, which we got. Check in was quick. Room was large, bathroom looked new (tile, etc) Not too many amenities in the bathroom (soap, shampoo and shower gel)...they brought up extra towels and blankets (the front desk called housekeeping when he saw there were 4 of us...I didn't even have to ask. The pool area looked nice and they had tennis courts. We did not eat there (arrived late and left early), but several people on the shuttle back to the airport the next AM (I went back to pick up the rental car) were raving about the breakfast buffet (I think it was $7.95 and I think kids were free with an adult). They was also Uno's pizza on site (I LOVE Uno's) and a Fridays across the street. I think it was an excellent place for the price we paid. We have also stayed at the Renaissance MCO via Priceline and at the Hyatt in the airport...for about the same price . I think this place was a little nicer than the others, but the others were fine too.

The HI Select is right across the street from the Embassy Suites, we have stayed there also. It is nice and includes a full breakfast but is closer to $100/night (sometimes cheaper on weekends). If you just want a clean, comfortable place to sleep and shower before starting a vacation I think you'd be fine to take what you get on Priceline for an MCO, 3* hotel.

I have done the Marriott and it was very nice. My brother recently stayed at the LaQuinta and liked it so much that he is booking his family there the night before our Disney cruise.

My fav is the Hyatt in the airport, but it is also the most expensive.

If you want alot of room and a convienent hotel try the Buena Vista Suites. We have tried the others and this is by far the best. Do not waste your time with the Hyatt MCO, it is a rip-off.

WE DID FOUR ROOMS AT THE FAIRFIELD INN BY MARRIOTT AND IT DOES HAVE THE SHUTTLE AND BREAKFAST. A GREAT VALUE FOR THE FIRST NIGHT.

I've bid on Priceline for 2 1/2 * and won the La Quinta Airport West 2x for something like $22 and $23 for late arrivals. They are not as fancy as the HI Select, but offer a shuttle until 11 pm(once we took a cab for $10), a very clean room, nice bathroom area, and very basic continental breakfast. For the price we paid, it was perfect.

I think late arrivals are the perfect time to use Priceline.

We stayed at the Hyatt in the airport. It was very nice. Our room had a balcony w/a view of the runway. It was so quiet. You never would have known you were sleeping in an airport.

We bid on hotwire and paid $65 or so.

The biggest bonus w/staying at the Hyatt - bell services picked up our luggage in our room when we checked out and took it thru the airport and delivered it to the screening machines while we waited in line at the ticket counter. We didn't touch a single suitcase until we landed at our home airport. What a nice perk and well worth the extra tip!!

w8ting4pooh,
For the Hyatt in the airport do you remember how many stars it was under in hotwire? Did they have alot of amenities listed? I have never tried priceline or hotwire but since its just the first night I think I will.

IandGsmom - It's the only one on Hotwire in the Orlando Airport category that does NOT have a shuttle icon. They have no need for a shuttle because you're already there. It's right in front of the Disney store in the airport too so that could be good or bad depending on how anxious you are to start shopping. LOL.

I believe it's 3.5 stars. The amenities are pool and restaurant and exercise room (I think).

We have also stayed at the Marriot thru priceline for $27. a nite, I believe.

Excellent hotel, but no breakfast. Beds were very comfy, which matters to me more than bkfst.

herc.

WARNING!

The Shearton is routinely showing up on Hotwire as an Orlando airport without a Shuttle, so you can't depend on that. I suggest you go to www.betterbidding.com and look for the Orlando hotel list to see the Hyatt listing.

We stayed at the Marriott using Priceline for $27 per night. There is a shuttle but we had a rental car--very convenient to the airport. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but we didn't eat there, and it wasn't included. Hotel was showing a little bit of age, but was still nice.
