Which makeup brand should I choose?

I'd like to buy some new makeup from the mall. These are the choices I have:
Stila, Benefit, Laura Mercier, Chanel, Prescriptives, Lancome, Clinique, Estee Lauder, MAC, and Bobbi Brown. I'm looking to buy the whole shebang. What brand would you choose?

I personally like Clinique, but haven't tried anything else. I go for the cheap stuff!

don't limit yourself to one brand! every brand has their "hits" and "misses"!

MAC, Stila, Lancome - some of my favorite eye shadows
Benefit, Clinique, Estee Lauder - great blushes
Laura Mercier / Bobbi Brown - great foundation/powders
MAC - great tools

Estee Lauder and Mac are great. I use their products. I love Mac's eye shadow over other brands also.

Not to throw something else into the mix, but I love Bare Esentuals. :thumbsup2

I love Clinique, it's one brand I never have had an allergic reaction to their makeup. Their skin care is a whole different story, though.

Their mascara, Defincils, is awesome. I also like the touch base for eyes, it really helps to keep eyeshadow on all day. Best part is that they've got a lot of choices for someone with really fair skin.

I've been meaning to go buy MAC, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I use mostly MAC and Bare Esscentuals, and have a few Stila shadows and blushes. MAC has a great selection of colors, and most of their products are very highly pigmented, so you don't use a lot. And I love their lip glosses and brushes, too. The same goes for BE--it's the only foundation I'll use, and they have a great range of colors in shadow and blush.

I like Bobbi Brown's concealers and some of her shimmer washes, but her eyeliners and mascara melt off my face in a very short time.

See I want to learn how to do a new look. I want to get makeup to have a neutral look. Foundation with dark eyes- brown shadows, blush, with just a hint of gloss/lipstick. The problem is I don't know what colors to pick or where to apply.

The closest place that sells bare escentuals is in Georgia or online. If I buy from them I'd definitely want help in picking colors and learning to apply. I live in SC btw.

Bare escentuals is nice because it is less toxic.

I love Stila's colors

Nars and cargo have the best blush

Lancome has nice foundations and powders and liptick

Shisheido is awesome for sunscreen

Benefit and christian dior have nice bronzers

Lancome and loreal are my favorite mascaras.

I could go on and on, i'm an addict!

I use...

Perscriptives for concealer and foundation.
Lancome for eyeshadow and mascara.
Clinique for powder and lip gloss
Chanel for lipstick and nailpolish
Stila for lipstick and gloss
Benefit for eyeshadow and body cream ("Touch Me and Try to Leave" is the best!)
Bobbi Brown for eye liner

I also like Nars for blush and Clarins for bronzer

I have dark brown hair and hazel green eyes, and have a medium skintone with yellow/lt. olive undertones, and these are what work well for me:

Mascara- Perscriptives 'False Eyelashes'

Blush-MAC Foolish Me for blush/Nars Orgasm for all over face color

Bronzer-Don't use, but use MAC Sunbasque blush to compliment my tan in the summer

Eyeshadow-Pure Luxe in Elysium; BE in Bare Skin and City Lights

Foundation- BE in 2.3 with a little 3.0 added in

Lipstick/lipgloss-MAC Lusterglass in Ornamentalism and Love Nectar

Eyeliner-Any MAC Gel Liners (Fluidlines)

Concealer-Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer

Other-MAC Paint in Bare Canvas for eyeshadow base; MAC brushes

This is a fun thread. Have fun shopping for yourself! :goodvibes
Here's what I've found to work for me.

Mascara- So far, Estee Lauder.

Nail polish - Chanel and Lancome

Blush- Sorry, I don't use it.

Bronzer- Haven't found a good one yet.

Eyeshadow- Lancome

Foundation- Sorry, I don't use it

Lipstick/lipgloss- I love Lancome lipsticks. Chanel is good too!

Eyeliner- Lancome or Prescriptives

Concealer- Bobbi Brown is pretty good.

Other- I highly recommend Absolue (replenishing cream) by Lancome as a daily moisturizer -- provides for such a smooth, fresh, soft and radiant look that I don't need any foundation.

There are lots of Bare Escentuals. Bare Minerals fans on these boards. If you can do a search you hear all the wonderful reasons why. I love it fost for the no makeup feel and the coverage. I use it exclusively.

There will be a Bare Escentual day on QCV on 2/26/06. Check either site for times.

Hehe....got convinced here to go try the Bare Escentuals...

I LOVE IT

I look so young and natural and still well covered.

Undoubtedly Benefit. It's some of the highest-quality cosmetic out there. "Get Even" (similar to a pressed powder compact) is absolutely unreal. I'm a big makeup junkie and I've tried it all, but I've never found anything that can compare to Benefit. Of the ones you mentioned, MAC has lots of goodies too.

I'm a BE girl also. 2.3 most of the time. I like their glimmers- fav is 'bare skin'.

Blush, regular eyeshadow, lip pencil, eyeliner, eyebrow, concealer is all Lauren Hutton. The most natural looking makeup I have ever used.

Sonja Kosha (or something like that from Target) in Allure (about 6.00) for lipstick. (Please God, don't ever let her quit making that color!!)

Don't forget to work with your brows. Eyebrows frame your face. I think a good brow can make or break ya!!
