Which Magic Morning

We're going to Disneyland next week for 5 days. I know it's going to be packed, so I'm trying to get everything done as early as possible and enjoy our afternoons relaxing. Since we're not staying onsite, we only get one magic morning. According to what i've read, it's a good idea to use the MM on our first day (which would be Sunday, June 27) when we're not too tired. But, would a Tuesday MM be less crowded because it's a weekday? I know we'll be a little more worn out, but would we get on more rides? I know many of you veterans have done both and know what's best! Thanks!!:goodvibes

I have done both and it's really a toss up. I honestly don't find that one day is busier than any other when it comes to MM.

The other thing is, I am going to upgrade my parkhoppers to an AP, so the sooner I get my MM done, the sooner i can start getting the discounts, so maybe I should just use it on Sunday??!!??

I'd do it the first day. :thumbsup2

What time zone are you coming from?

We arer on day 5 right now (we have one more day this trip) and have used MM on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. For us Sunday was the slowest of those three days. I don't know if it was because it was Father's Day or if we just got lucky. We did the FL dark Rides, the Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Duzz and Nemo Subs before our 8:40 breakfast at the PPH. We had to do child swap for the matterhorn and space. If we didn't have to do that we could have squeezed in another ride or two.

Have a good trip!

The only advice that I can had is when I was down in April, the Sunday MM was far less crowded because it started at 7:00am than the following Tues MM which started at 8:00am. Earlier = less busy MM :teacher:

I would do it on the Sunday. Assuming you're coming from the east, it will be easier for you to get up early (b/c your bodies won't know it's that early). And as the previous poster said, the earlier the MM, the lighter the crowds. Now, sometimes it's a wash b/c there are more people there on weekends, BUT since this is now summer, people are off on vacations anyway, so weekend isn't AS different as a weekday as it is during the school year.

Thank you everyone! We are form the west coast, so there's no time difference and the MM times are both 7AM... which is pretty early for me! I'm thinking Sunday will be better too.... if we stay out late in the parks Monday night, getting up early on Tues. will be very difficult! Just wondering if there might be a benefit to going on Tues that I'm missing

I would do it as soon as possible so you have all your energy and be at the park for a while. :)

Thanks cberhorst for asking my question for me:) I think my dd and I will be there the same days as you. We arrive on Saturday the26th and leave on Wednesday the 30th. I was trying to decide if Sunday was our best bet for MM and it sounds like it will be. Maybe we'll see you there!:woohoo:

I agree...in our experience it has been the same way... a lot of people have trouble getting anywhere that early! :goodvibes

Yes, maybe we will see you there! I am prepared for it to be super busy and hot.... but hey, it's Disneyland!

Actually, the weather looks outstanding for next week. Lows in the 60s Highs in the high 70s...:cool1::banana::cool1::woohoo:...we live in AZ so we are looking forward to a break from the heat:rotfl:

I would go with the Sunday. You're at the beginning of the trip so still fresh and energetic. Also, Sunday mornings just seem less crowded to me. Even without magic morning, we have often been able to go in on a Sunday morning at 8 AM and ride many of the Fantasyland rides with hardly any wait. Last Sunday we had magic morning and rode Space Mountain twice, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad, the teacups, Thunder, Indy and Pirates by 9 AM and had fastpasses for Thunder for later.

Us too!! We're in NC, and it's 100 and humid here today. We are looking forward to the current coolness of SoCal!
