DD is a toddler now and is hard on her clothes. Which brands resist stains and wear the best? I used to buy Hanna Andersson because it has such great resale on Ebay, but it's $$ and it definitely stains so that brand is out for a while. I love the Children's Place because it's so economical, but again, it seems to stain. I bought some really cute stuff from the current Gymboree sale, but I won't let DD wear it until she's totally done crawling so she doesn't stain the knees:rotfl: I'm interested to hear what brands other parents recommend. My DD definitely plays hard and is hard on her clothes.

I think everything will stain - especially with kids. I have found that Spray N Wash Dual Action works WONDERS on stains. Even old stains that have been through the wash plenty of times. I swear by this stuff!!! Don't worry about the brand - all clothes will stain. Get yourself the Spray N Wash Dual Action and you'll be a happy mama!!! :)

Well - I have to vote for Gymboree. While it does "stain," IMHO it seems I can get stains out of Gymboree clothing while I can't other brands. Other brands I do buy -- WeeWinterWoolies by Flap Happy, Chicken Noodle, Zoodles, Kelly's Kids. Again, IMHO, I love Zoodles but I really don't think they are made all that well -- it seems it doesn't take much for the seams (I don't know if that's the right word) to come apart and I use the hand wash selection on my washing machine.

The only brand must be something I've never tried. Or, my kids are piggies. Gymboree, Chicken Noodle and Zoodles... I hate buying them because I can guarantee THAT will be the one they ruin the fastest! (But, those happen be the cutest!) I CAN NOT resist a cute Chicken Noodle outfit!!

I can't comment on stains, but I will say that Kohl's stuff shrinks the most. I always have to buy at least 1, sometimes 2, sizes up.

Now that I'm used to it, it's no big deal. Ugh, but in the beginning, it made me :headache: (where's that flame head smily when I need it?)

It's funny...we've actually had good luck with Zoodles (except for the seam thing...we've had that problem). It doesn't seem to stain very badly, but unfortunately the company also seems to be out of business now. I ordered a bunch of 2T and 3T Zoodles outfits on really cheap clearance right after DD was born, but the website was gone when I went back to order more:confused3 Too bad. It was cute stuff, and it did wear pretty stain-wise anyways.

KelNottAt, I've had the same problem with Children's Place. I need to buy 1 size up from DD's normal size there. I'm not sure if their stuff shrinks or if it just runs smaller than average.

I think Gymboree stuff, fades bad though.

I really like Lands End. -seems to be sturdy.

I buy alot at children's place, but their stuff, doesn't always wear well, but at least its not as expensive.

Once my girls were up and about- The days of keeping clothes nice for long were over. My oldest is very rough on clothes. Everything gets dirty, everyday.:headache: :headache:

I hadn't thought of Lands' End! I've seen it clearanced pretty cheaply at Sears in the past. I should go check it out to see if I can find anything for DD there. I wonder if LLBean would also be a good choice? They don't seem to have as wide a selection for toddlers, though.

It doesn't matter what brand it is or how much you paid for it - it all stains just the same. I've had Target shirts that I've gotten difficult stains out of, and I've had Gymboree clothes that were ruined after just a few wearings. It all depends on the fabric and the type of stain.

I agree with Chicken Noodle. I also love, love, love Le Top. It's so soft and comfy and washes so well - not to mention adorable. My DD had lots of Le Top outfits she wore all last summer and most of them still look brand new.

I have two very rough and tumble boys. The only brand that has held up for them is Ralph Lauren. I have been able to get three years out of wear from some things.

I agree about Le Top. My son has a ton of it that I got off of EBAY this fall so it had already been through one little boy and now we've had it for months. Nearly all the pieces still look perfect and the fabric is so soft and wearable.

Personally, I've never been that fond of Gymboree which is what everybody seems to go for.

I find they all stain, but this is something to do that will help

I only use Tide Detergent, and add a scoop of Oxy-Clean, it works, if needed use the spray and wash pre-treat also.

Land's End is pretty good -- and you can get killer deals from their overstock section. In my experience -- their clothes run small and I buy a size up.

I only buy DS(10)'s clothes at Children's Place (I don't care for their girl's fashions) -- and they are a good price but for some reason it doesn't take long for the pants to get holes in them (it may just be my son & the fact that he goes to a Montessori school where they sit on the floor) - I will go to Old Navy for him also. Those are really the only 2 options for him in my town right now.

I agree about Land's End. Holds up well and I can usually get stains out easily.

The majority of my Gymboree, Children's Place, BabyGap, OldNavy, Janie & Jack outfits have stained or faded before they're outgrown. The clothes that have held up the best for me (through 2 girls) are the cheap 2.88 WalMart separates. I don't do a lot of expensive play clothes so WalMart and Target are all I buy and they've held up extremely well. Grandparents and uncles buy the pricy stuff so my wallet doesn't feel so bad when it inevitably gets ruined.

Hanna Anderson is pricey but the clothes are known to hold up very well. So far I have no complaints.

Me too - I only buy their airplane line every fall, and I don't buy any white or cream because of the staining issue.

I've had luck with Osh Kosh and Old Navy/GAP clothes with my hard-wearing toddler. Almost everything I have is from a neighbor, so has held up through two toddler boys without a break in between.
