Which is the best magnetic paper?

I haven't done our magnets yet, but am wondering exactly how this works? The sheet of magnetic paper goes into your printer and when it comes out, you just cut the image out (example, mickey ears for on top of our room #)?

Our Mickey ears are black construction paper cutouts with a magnet glued on the back :thumbsup2
And I use the magnetic pocket photo holders and change sheets in them everyday. We have different ones for each cruise day. Our door is always changing.

Even though I put small magnets in each ear and in the head part, they kept falling down. Everytime the door would close, they'd fall or at least slide down a lot. After a while I got tired of rearranging them...
Next time I will still use the Avery sheets for the big ones but will find something stronger for the Mickey heads.

Has anyone had experience with printing small magnets directly on the Avery paper? Some of my magnets are small and I hope they don't keep falling down. :(

Hobby Lobby has 3 sheets on sale for $4.12 per pack in their "magnet" section. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm sure they will be fine! (BTW They are $5.99 when they are not on sale.)

I bought some Hobby Lobby magnet paper and it jams my HP all-in-one printer. Staples and Avery paper are fine though. The Hobby Lobby paper is much thicker than Staples and Avery and I think that's why it's jamming.

Thanks...this is good to know. I'll be sure to use the 40% off coupon as well when getting this.

I havent even started printing magnets yet as my cruise is so far off...but I have been hearing mixed reviews on the avery magnet sheets. Heard that they dont stick well. Are others having the same issue?

I used Avery paper (it was probably a year old) just this past Jan ~ still sticking to my fridge since then.

I bought some 4x6 & 8x10 magnet paper... wonder how the smaller ones will turn out.

Mine were great as full or half sheet. They only started to fall when I tried glueing them to the back of my HD Mickey heads.

Good to know thanks so much...I dont want to wate my time and money printing if it doesnt work. Maybe I am confused..I dont know but thanks for the info. Hope everyone has a good trip.

Another suggestion:
I bought a cheap pack of sticky backed magnetic tape on a long roll. it had some little round spot shapes and strips too in the pack! Just cut pieces off, peel off backing paper and stick on. None of my magnets moved at all.
I made my designs in Microsoft Publisher, copying and pasting photos and clip arts then printed my pics on to photopaper and laminated, then stuck a piece of the magnetic tape on each corner. Some A4 posters...some smaller designs i cut around after laminating.

Aloha,
I use escapadedirect.com it's very cheap.
It is $1.10 per sheet.
25 sheets for $27.50 plus shipping $8.25 no sales tax= $35.75
50 sheets for $55.00 plus shipping $11.25 no sales tax =$66.25.
Just use the standard shipping it usually takes only 3 days. Very reliable an I have used them many times.

aloha,
Hawaiian Mickey

I have a laminator at home so I have been laminating all of my door signs and bought a roll of magnets and have been cutting about 1 inch pieces and putting it in each corner. I tried it on our fridge and it works great. I would say that I saved a lot of money this way because I have about 25-30 signs for the different days and I still have half a roll left and I only paid 12.00 for 100 sheets of laminating sheets and 3.50 for the magnet roll.

I have Avery magnet paper and we're going on our cruise on 4/25. I'll make sure to report back if any fall down. I do have some small magnets that I printed so I'm worried about them falling. I'm going to buy a pack of self-adhesive magnets too as backup and if I don't need it, I'll return it.

I used my Avery magnets on our cruise, and they worked great. :thumbsup2 Even with taking them off the door every night they always stayed in place. They only moved when a few were stolen!
