Hi all!

Hate to be a bother, but my family and I are headed for WDW in October this year. We're already booked and paid up for a Value Resort, but my DH just sprung on me he'd like to stay at a Moderate Resort. Which is the best in your opinions? The only one we've ever stayed at was Port Orleans Riverside, but it was only for 3 nights and it was our first time ever at WDW. Any help would be appreciated :flower: ::MickeyMo

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. It comes down to the theming that you like. CSR does have the best pool.

We love CBR. We truly feel like we have escaped to the islands when we stay there. We didn't care for the Pepper Market at CSR with the mandatory 10% tip.

I have lots of pictures of CBR and you might want to read the FAQ's listed below.

You will have a great time no matter which one you pick.

They are have different themes and come in different sizes. It all comes down to your tastes. We love CSR. Check out my CSR website for pics, links and info.

I know lots of people like CSR, but the theming doesn't really appeal to me. We've stayed at CBR and POR and I would have to say we liked both, but I liked POR more, I think DH liked CBR more.

The only one we haven't stayed at was POR!!!

Here is my opinion

CSR-BEST overall. This feels like a deluxe resort!!! The Pepper Market is worth the 10% tip. Real cloth napkins and silverware already at the table. Real plates. They bring your drinks. You pay at the end-without juggling trays. It was such a nice change form the food courts. the pool is amazing. LONG slide. HUGE hot tub. Three different themed areas. If you like a tropiclal theme, request Cabanas....Haven't been sinc the rooms were refurbished, so don't know about them....there is now an internal shuttle ...

POFQ- Very beautiful resort. Rooms are gorgeous! Small resort, so not a lot of walking.Yummy beignets at the food court. Pool area is cute, but the slide is real short. Nice resort for families with little ones.

CBR- Tropical, bright colors, pretty rooms with lots of storage space. Small pool slide, decent food court. Lots of bus stops, though. It's my least favorite of the three, but I would go back.

POFQ is always our first choice in moderates. The resort is small, they just rehabbed it last summer, wonderful pool, boat to DTD and you have access to all the amenities at POR as well.
We also enjoy POR and CSR. We did not like CBR, resort was too big and the transportation terrible.

My wife and I's favorite was always the CBR. If you don't like walking then this isn't the resort for you. But it's very immersive atmosphere is a vacation in itself.

We've stayed at all of the moderates. The deciding factor for us is shade. With dh and ds(baby) having fair complections, we stay at POR for the shade. DS(11) likes the pool at POR better than CSR. We all like the boat ride to DTD. We also enjoy the piano man Wed to Sat entertainment at POR.

We stayed at CBR last October and fell in love with it. There are beautiful courtyards by the buildings (if you need shade), hammocks on the lagoon's beaches, and a whole breezy island feel.

I need to qualify this by saying that I have only stayed at one other Disney resort, the Disney Inn (before it was bought by the DOD and became Shades of Green).

We will be returning to CBR again in October - not that another resort would not be suitable, we just loved CBR too much to want to try something else at this point.

Our family absolutely loves the Coronado Springs! We will not stay at any other moderate but the Coronado. We've tried the Caribbean Beach and it did not appeal to us, so back to the Coronado we went.

" . . . a Moderate Resort. Which is the best in your opinions?"
Our whole family likes Port Orleans Riverside best. We're staying there again in June. The Magnolia Mansions are really pretty although we stay in Alligator Bayou because we have five people.

They are all great and I would not complain about staying in anyone of them. Maybe I'm just easy to please.

No matter where you decide to stay, have fun!

We were at CBR the first week of April this spring, and we loved it! I want to try CSR next, thinking my DS's (14 & 11) would like the pool and closeness to Blizzard Beach, but they want to go back to CBR and nowhere else! They loved the beach and the hammocks and the Old Port Royale, and want to go back tomorrow (wish we could)!

We were in Martinique 2549, which was perfect for us, and there were lots of buses all the time, and everyone was great. I have nothing but positive things to say about CBR...so it looks like that may be where we end up again!
