SSR felt more spread out because there were more places that we walked to: DTD, the main restaurant, and the little pool, and everything looked spread out when we walked across the little bridge. At OKW we tended to stay in our area or drive to the main restaurant and pool.
We hadn't stayed at SSR for years until this past Nov. I've got to say, I really liked it. The building was still being renovated while we were there, so everything was brand new. It is a beautifully landscaped resort; the trees have grown so much since last time.
Another difference may be the landscaping. OKW is pretty lush; SSR a bit more open. The wider vistas may make a difference, though as SSR continues to mature, that's less of an issue.
We are here again at SSR - December we were at OKW. Even though SSR is bigger - the walking/time is not far from one point to another. The Community Hall, Laundry facility by Springs, the Fitness center and some pools at SSR are much bigger and nicer than OKW. Love the tropical feel/look, spacious rooms, marina view/area at OKW - each one has it's plusses and minuses - different for each person. For me - tough decision if I had to choose. DH loves the feeling more at OKW but has no problem staying at any of them like me.
That's very interesting, thanks. I always thought SSR was the bigger resort, but I would have guessed that is was comparatively larger than that. I guess it seems that way because of the afore-mentioned vegetation.
