Which is harder ADR Sci-fi or 50s diner?

We’ve got 2 DHS days one is our first park day and one is our last of a 10 day trip. So I’m confident getting an ADR for the last day but worried about the first. Wondering which I should attempt for each.

You’ll definitely have an easier time trying to get an ADR for sci-fi on your last park day. Given that you have a 10-day trip, you should be able to get one for your 2nd HS day

We've been playing around with the app, just getting to know it and seeing what restaurants we rarely see as "available" on the app, and 50s diner is always showing up with available times. I haven't seen Sci Fi show up at all yet, on any days that I've tried to see what's available. Same with Le Cellier and Ohana. :/

I have a ten day trip as well and made my ressies this morning and got Sci fi for our last night- 7:00pm which is the exact time we wanted. It was my first ressie of 12.

I’d say it’s more popular for the theming. That said, we really enjoyed our lunch there this summer. We all had burgers and fries and all thought they were really good—better in fact than Beaches & Cream’s which we had the prior day. Everything came out very hot and fresh at Sci-fi. It wasn’t a quick lunch though (food took a bit to come out). We were probably there for an hour, but we didn’t complain bc it felt so good to be in the cool AC (it’s really dark inside too).

Just to piggyback on this. Any reason sci-fi would be more popular is it the theming or food?

Thanks
When making our ADRs a month ago I noticed the system prefers parties of 6. I tried for days (the 1st week of our 65 day ADR window) for any time spot any day of our trip for party of 2, 3 & 4 with no luck. Then on a whim I put in 6ppl and a whole bunch of time slots opened, then I checked 2 other days and they had times available too.

The cars comfortably seat 6ppl and maybe Sci-fi was having an issue with people not wanting to be sat in a car with another party. Possibly they changed the system to devote a high percentage of availability to 5-6ppl?

When we were there in June they were still spacing out quite a bit. They were sitting people at least every other car. They were also limiting one party per car, so even if you were a group of 2 or 3 you got your own car. Not sure if they are still spacing cars. I don’t think that I’ve heard that they’ve started sitting different parties together yet.

In July, we were right next to another family in the cars. Not sure if they are sitting other families together, though.

In late July, we had a 6 seater car of our own for 3 people. Not sure if it's changed yet. Not a lot of seating even before covid, because the cars do not seat a lot and take up a lot of floor space.

In my opinion, it's the theming that makes it more popular. There is nothing like it. For us, the food was just okay. I hated that my kids were in the seats behind us. If we wanted to talk to them we had to turn around.

We have dined here throughout our daughters childhood...it was mainly the theming combined with burger and shake sitting in the car.

We have dined here throughout our daughters childhood...it was mainly the theming combined with burger and shake sitting in the car, despite the repeating 'movie.' They made note of it too, but still wanted to go, time and time again.

Sci Fi is harder. Go early or off hours or after park close for best chance. If you go fo normal times it’s hard.

Another vote for Sci-Fi. It's all about the atmosphere and the movies.
While the food is average, the setting and the movies makes it way too much fun to pass up.
50's Prime time has been hit or miss over several times. With a fun server, it is awesome, with a bland server, its no different than any other restaurant. Which it is not supposed to be. We have had both over multiple trips.
