My dd9 asked me alittle while ago how we are supposed to tell them apart when we get to Disney, so I told her I would ask my fellow disers. I know one of them has a space between their teeth, but I don't know which one? Thank You

Chip is the one with the dark nose (like a chocolate chip), Dale has the red nose.

I've always seen their noses as black and brown, so when I heard the "Chip's nose is dark like a chocolate chip" I assumed his was the brown nose - because chocolate is really brown, not black. But it turns out Chip has the black nose and Dale has the brown nose (which is a little reddsih.) I just have to remember what I think it SHOULD be and then reverse it!!

Chip's nose is small, black, and rather triangular-shaped. Dale's nose is big, brown (cartoon Dale has a red nose), and oval.

Aaaaand here's the way that I can remember it:

Dale has a reD nose (which, to me, translates into "Dale has a Drinking problem" :lmao:).

Please don't hate me...it's the only thing that works for me!

I have always remembered this way:
Chip has a nose like a chocolate chip
Dale has a DALE between his two teeth. What's a dale? It's a broad valley. So, he has a wide space between his two front teeth. Does that help? LOL I love me some Chip and Dale and I could never remember which was which until last year when I heard this. Crazy!!! HAHAHAHA

You see colors differently than I do, and differently than many others do (especially those of us who can use the chocolate chip/Chip thing)...Dale's nose is red...Chips's is a dark brown...for us, at least.

Here's a picture that will help... Dale is on the left with the brownish/red nose and Chip is on the right with the black nose. Gotta love them!!!

I always used the shape of Chips nose to help me remember "like a chocolate chip" rather than the color.

Aww, thank you so much for the differnt ways that you remember. Dale with Double teeth, I think will stick with me, and the shape of Chip's nose. The pic of them is too cute. My dd9 cannot wait to see them. She loves animals so all of the "animal" characters are going to be her favorites.

I've always remembered it as - Chip "chipped" a tooth. - because he only has one and Dale has two.

If you are at a character meal ASK THEM! my boys did and they drew pictures for them to show the differences acted out silliness about the other one it was great! this was a Chef mickey's
Have fun Nettii

My brother loves to tell the story about being at one of the character meal with Chip & Dale. Apparently they wear aprons with their names on them as they visit the tables. A guy at the next table kept asking "which one are you"...and the character kept pointing to his name...written on the apron. The poor guy apparently kept getting more frustrated and repeatedly asked the same question. Chip (or Dale) was also rather frustrated and kept pointing to his name written across his chest. This went on for a while.

Apparently, it was a very funny scene to watch play out! I always remember that when I see them...and never ask!
