Which is better? Yacht Club, Beach Club or Boardwalk Inn

dana...:sad1: . We put our Teddy down 2 months ago...I feel your pain.

Back to topic...All 3 of the resorts are nice. I love SAB, so would always vote for YC or BC, because of that. And, if I am going to stay at YC or BC, I'll do the BC because we stayed there on our honeymoon so it has sentimental attraction and it is a slightly closer walk to Epcot and MGM than the YC. Of course, the BW is sort of in the middle of Epcot and MGM, ut again, I'm a YC/BC girl at heart.

That being said, if anyone wants to invite me on an all expenses paid trip, I'll be happy to stay at any one of them!;)

Im jealous any way you choose. They are all in a fantastic location and are very beautiful resorts. I dont think you can go wrong.

I fell in love with Beach Club last week. It actually pushed the Poly to #2 on my list and I never thought that would happen. The resort is very pretty, and the atmosphere is MUCH more relaxed and fun than BWI. Epcot is a 5mns walk way. Cape May breakfast and Beaches & Cream were very nice. Good shop, convenient "Marketplace".

We were at BWI in July and I didn't like it at all - well, I liked the proximity to Epcot but that's about it.

we've stayed at all.
for 2 adults, i would def go with BWI or YC (love them both  ).
both have beautiful theming, BWI perhaps getting the edge b/c of proximity to the BW & it's activities.....a smidge closer after a night at jellyrolls, etc ;) (BC is beautiful, but we find it more noisy with many, many young children ~ just not adult themed/oriented).
hth :santa:

We just got back from 7 days at the BC last week. We stayed at the BC, my parent at the YC, and my sister and brother in law at the BWI. I have to say the BWI hands down is a better resort. Our pool was nice but it was on lock down every night at 8:00pm so in order to enjoy it we had to come back from the parks early, and the bus service was just terrible. We took the bus to the BW and walked back a couple time because our bus was so late. I think we ended up at the BW almost every night with something to do. Evertyhing is open late!

The holiday decorations at the BW were awesome! We loved our stay there. Although we have never stayed at the YC/BC, we did visit there on our BW stay and we really preferred the look and feel of the BW more.

Looks like we're going to try for the Boardwalk Inn for December 2008. It will be dependent on me finding a great code. If no code we will stay at the Port of New Orleans French Quarter as its $1000 cheaper as prices stand now. Cross your fingers for me. Anybody know when codes may come out based on past experiences. Thanks Bunches:banana:

Just when I was sure on the YC/BC - BWI is looking pretty good. I didn't realize they close SAB that early. Thats not good - sometimes thats when we finally get to the pool after a day in the parks. Are the quiet pools open? Even so - DS8 would miss going on the slide.

Anne, as always, great information for everyone. I don't want to steal this thread, but I want you to know that one of our two adopted greyhounds passed away from cancer two weeks ago. 6 years in our home and we loved every minute of being with him.

I'm so sorry. I can't imagine what you are feeling. :sad1:

I can, having experienced a similar loss myself once. My best friend Lefty has been gone for almost 20 years now, and it still hurts so much to think about him that I have never again had another dog, and probably never will.

Back to the original topic - I am an evil, satanic pagan, because I happen to love the Swan and Dolphin, which are non-Disney hotels.

I can't say whether I love S&D more than the 3 Disney resorts, because I have never stayed at any of those 3 Disney resorts, but I do love them and think that their level of service is top-knotch. Not only that, but their rates are usually significantly lower than the Disney deluxes, and you get almost all the same ammenities (EMH, package delivery, free parking at the theme parks). S&D also have some terrific discounted rates for WDW Annual Passholders, military, law enforcement, teachers, and nurses.

Drawbacks to S&D over a Disney resort would be the outrageous $12 a day self-parking fee, no DME, and no room charging.

Plusses, besides those I already mentioned, would be a quieter, more adult-oriented atmosphere, thanks to the convention facilities, and many balcony rooms with Epcot views on floors that are higher than those at any of the 3 Disney resorts (balcony rooms cost more, of course, but they are available).

So toss S&D into your mix when deciding on a Crescent Lake resort.

Yes, the lake on which the Epcot resorts are built is called Crescent Lake; not many people seem to know that except fans of the Epcot resort area.

I must agree with Willcad. The Swan and Dolphin are a great alternative if you can get one of their discounted rates. With the teacher discount I am paying less than half of what a Disney owned Epcot resort would cost me. Plus, I have the Starwood AMEX card which earns me points for free nights. Of course we won't be able to get the dining plan, but that's fine with us, because we would never be able to eat that much food, and don't like doing too many sit down meals anyway-takes up too much park time. You might want to look into it. Then you are stil in the same area and can enjoy the Boardwalk atmosphere which is just a short stroll away.

The quiet pools are open, but it is soooo crowded because of the main pool being closed you can't enjoy yourself. :confused3

Thanks for the info.

I'm going over to the S& D thread to get some more info. I did check some prices and they're just a little less then the disney rates...I'm not a govt worker or teacher but do have AAA. The pkg I checked out included free meal for kids under 12 (not sure the limitations) so that might make up for no ME. I'll do some number crunching and see what the comparison is.
